I mentioned this bit in another thread, so here it is. I shortened it up by about 500 words or so to make it an easier read.


Over at CBS the new creed seems to be "Never let the facts get in the way of a good story".

Here's the gloom and doom story about Army Recruiting failing to reach its June 06 goal by 25%. Their information is of course from some mysterious "official". Take the time to read the whole story, so you can experience the impact of this bit of hard hitting reporting.

The only part of the story that seems not to be fabricated is the single sentence about AR and NG recruiting falling off. For the hair splitters out there, this story is about Regular Army Recruiting, not NG and AR. The numbers given in the "piece" would be closer to working if the story was about the RA, NG, and AR as a whole, but it is not.
Reporters seem to be quickly dropping to the same rung of humanity occupied by child molesters politicians and lawyers.
