I have talked several times about C-130 Gunships and how they could suppress rockets being fired at Israel. I thought you might be interested in seeing an actual C-130 gunship take out with precision fire some militant Islamists. Just click on the link I have provided to take you to the site.

In this second video it shows what can be done at a distance of two and one-half-miles to Hezbollah even at night when they want to launch rockets with if Israel had this Specter Gunship System watching its borders. The system can even reverse the rockets tract to tell you the launch location. Israel needs these to take out the Islamic scum that launch rockets without collateral damage.

You Tube "You never know who's watching. This is unusual and remarkable film footage;
this is a night vision movie from Iraq, showing live action against Iraqi insurgents. The pictures were taken from an AC130 Specter gunship two and a half miles away. The guys in the picture are setting up a roadside bomb and planning to ambush an American convoy which followed a short while after the pictures were taken. They were setting up for the ambush and were pacing off the distance from the bomb to where the convoy was to pass by.
Turn your sound up. Their marksmanship with those electronically controlled 40mm cannons is astounding."

You know I often wondered why the IAF didn't go to a gunship type platform, something smaller than an AC-130, though. Some thing about the size of a Casa 212, a single sensor, and something like a 25 mm, side mounted gun.
What's often overlooked with the AC-130, isn't the devasting amount of firepower- but the precision they can deliver a single 40 mm round.

The 40 mm Bofors are to be replaced with two Mk 44 Bushmaster II 30 mm cannons. Which is the same cannon that is being mounted on the Israeli Samson RCWS-30.

Those Gunships are stitting ducks if the enemy has any anti-air capibilty. I sure as hell would not like to fly a mission in one. They are only good for fighting a primitive enemy.

there not much of a sitting duck, there loaded with some very hi tech counter measure with its impressive armment
it does seem logical to have atleast 2, even if they used a dc-3 airframe like in vietnam with 3 25mm cannons
