The T-6A is also used by the USAF and USN. The airplanes will replace Israel's aging fleet of Tzukit (Fouga Magister) trainers.

The first T-6A turboprop trainers are expected to be delivered in January 2009. Total cost for the 25-airplane buy is projected at $190 million. The T-6A Texan is expected to replace the Tzukit (which has been in service in Israeli since the 1960s).
