Another Three F-35s Land

Israel took delivery of another three F-35 stealth fighters this weekend, bringing Israel's total inventory to five aircraft. A total of 50 are on order.

As I have given vent to before, this is not the warplane Israel needs (not enough range, faulty avionics system, and so forth), but it is the only stealth fighter offered to Israel for sale. Hopefully the IDF quickly learns out this fault ridden system. Pity that Israel's own fighter development capability was scrapped out decades ago:

Why is it the only stealth fighter offered to Israel? Is America limiting what Israel can buy from them and to what purpose?

America seems to sell the Saudis, Pakistanis, Egyptians and others plenty of other jet fighters.

The IDF wanted to buy the F-22, a dedicated air-to-air weapon second to none. But it was not offered.

The F-35 is currently the only stealth warplane still in production in the West. It doesn't have the payload or strike radius that Israel needs, and Israel's attempts to have them modified have been met with resistance:

Israel once had its own fighter jet manufacturing industry. They produced the Nesher in the 1970s (a modified Mirage 5), then the Kfir (an evolution from the Nesher design), and finally were developing an all-new fighter, called the Lavi during the 1980s - which was canceled under considerable pressure from some quarters in the U.S. There was a book published on the subject not long ago. The Lavi was a joint program of U.S. and Israeli industry, designed to meet Israel's specific requirements. It was an extraordinary machine. The attached video gives a flavor, extracted from the book on the subject:

Unfortunately, when it was cancelled, Israel's development capabilities were devastated, and have never recovered.

There are no doubt some forces in the U.S. that dont take Israel as a best friend at all. Even hindering their security to "appease" the gulf arabs mainly. Mainly due to our oil needs, we cannot afford complete break off from the arabs at this time, I understand it, even Israel understands this, Jewish people are good business men and women, but it shouldnt ever affect Israel.

Even my personal hero General James "mad dog" Mattis has irritated me many times when he said the "west bank" settlements hurt America's relationship with the Arabs.

I'm like so what? What next? Give Jerusalem to the arabs to make the Saudis smile at America?

Now he has gone hunting the Russians, to see if they are giving weapons to the Taliban, this only helps to please the Saudis once again, the Saudis who spread salafism worldwide with islamic missionaries, the very people who join ISIS after that. Ofcourse if it turns out to be true that Russia is arming the Taliban then I'm all for smashing the Russians very hard & remind them of how they got kicked out of Afghanistan lol.
