Netanyahu backs Greater Jerusalem bill to annex surrounding towns

Netanyahu again expressed his support for a bill that strengthens Jerusalem and its environs.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday expressed his support for legislation that calls for the incorporation of towns surrounding Jerusalem into the Israeli capital, essentially annexing them in the process.

While visiting the city of Ma’aleh Adumin, which would fall under the purview of the bill, Netanyahu again expressed his support for the bill while announcing a massive construction project which includes thousands of housing units in the city.

“Ma’ale Adumim is part of the state of Israel. It will always be part of the state of Israel,” Netanyahu declared during a special faction meeting of his Likud party held in the city.

“I support the Greater Jerusalem bill, which will enable Jerusalem and its environs to develop in many aspects. This is important news,” he stated. ”

The Greater Jerusalem Law would incorporate Givat Ze’ev to the northwest of Jerusalem as well Beitar Illit and the Etzion bloc of communities, which are situated southwest of Jerusalem, and Ma’aleh Adumim, into Jerusalem’s municipal boundaries – thus creating a greater metropolitan area and, in effect, annexing 19 Israeli communities, which serve as home to some 150,000 Israelis.

The bill also proposes turning Arab villages in the area that lie outside the security barrier into an independent municipality within Greater Jerusalem.

Netanyahu has previously expressed support for the legislation.

NOW YOU'RE TALKING SMART!
Since the PALaturds want Jewrusalem just because the Jews own it, we should just enlarge it, make NEW Jewrusalem much bigger, incorporate lands beyond all the eye can see into NEW JEWRUSALEM! And give the NATIVE Israeli ARABS nothing but the road to their real homeland, Jordan...

United Jerusalem and her neighborhood is integral part of Israel. Hence the definition Greater Jerusalem should be used in the same way as the definition of Greater London.

What's in a name?

How would you feel about renaming "New" or even "Neo-Jewrusalem" ?

Never change the name of actual Jerusalem, just renaming the newly expanded and included areas as Newer part of Eternal Jerusalem. No offense meant.

All of Jerusalem and the surrounding land is Israel. There should not be any demarcation of this or that. The Jordanians should be able to pray in their mosque and that is it.

Why annex this or that? Yehouda and Shomron are the heart of the ancestral land of the Jewish nation. No one should be allowed to give any part of it. All of it is part of the Jewish state of Israel. If needed copy Arab states who cleansed out all the Jews and cleanse out all of the PA and be done with Islamic terror every minute of every day concern.

I think the Arab-Palestinians need to face reality and stop deluding themselves. No distortion of history or pressure by the Arab-Palestinians will change that. No UNESCO – U.N. declaration-resolution that are non-binding and have no legal standing or anyone else. There is not going to be another Arab-Palestinian state west of the Jordan River. The Arabs have already an Arab Palestinian state which is on Jewish land over three times the size of Israel, east of the Jordan River; it is called Jordan, where 80% of the population are Arab Palestinians and the Arabs in Judea and Samaria aka the West Bank have a Jordanian passport. They were all Jordanian citizens when Jordan Annexed the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The Arabs received over 13 million sq. km. with a wealth of oil reserves, after WWI and the Jewish people were given back their historical land in all of Palestine aka The Land of Israel. The Arab countries also terrorized and expelled over a million Jewish families and confiscated all their assets, including businesses, homes and over 120,000 sq. km. of Real Estate and land owned by the Jewish people for over 2,600 years; these assets are valued in the trillions of dollars. Most of the million expelled Jewish families from Arab countries now reside in Israel.

o This is another step toward the one state solution - which will be a bi-national state and end the existence of Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people and also end the Zionist project. There is a proposal by the Likud member of parliament, Berko, which call for separating the Arab villages, which are not part of Jerusalem and were annexed after 1967 and transfer them to the Palestinian Authority.
The two states solution is the only one which assures the continuous existence of Israel as a Jewish and a democratic state.

Jerusalem belongs to Israel and Arab quarters must be autonomous. But the future Palestinian State, if their leaders recognize and respect the neighbor and if they accept new frontiers and being demilitarized, can not be disregarded. Jordan is another State. There are International Laws that dispose about it and Israel is a democratic and humanistic country.

That was my position on this for a very, very long time. Unfortunately, over the last few years, I have come to realise that it just ain't gonna happen. Whilst what you say is about Israel being democratic and humanist is true, the same cannot be said about the Arabs, whether living in Israel or in the Arab countries surrounding Israel. There are exceptions of course, it would be ridiculous to assert that there are not ... but they are the exceptions that prove the rule. Israel is now facing 2 generations of Arabs brainwashed from a very young age to hate Israel. These people will not respect Israel no matter what Israel does to appease them. Israel has bent over backwards to help them and for very little in return... in fact less then nothing in return... with terrorist acts ongoing. Arabs unfortunately are born into, and bow down to, a distasteful and evil theology, Islam. Except for the Druze (those in israel largely fiercely loyal, Beduin (loyal to their own, don't mind helping Israel, they regard the desert as belonging to them... with considerable justification... great desert army scouts and trackers)... and a few Arabs, but not many, (Christian and Moslem) who serve in the military... The vast majority hate Israel. They've been programmed and brainwashed by their 'leaders'... who sit there mostly unelected... milking the various charities, UNRWA included, for their own profit, to finance an assortment of terrorist activities. There are some who for some reason the brainwashing hasn't worked... and they try to speak out... at great risk to themselves and their families... to them it's obvious that they were better off under an Israeli government. I believe Israel, now needs to exert control over ALL of Israel as it is: ie the 'West Bank' and Gaza. Leave the East Bank(EB) out of it, even tho' it is part of Judea and Samaria... and actually was earmarked to be part of the Jewish Homeland. If the Jordanians want to help they can give the EB over to the Arabs that decide they do not want to stay in Israel. It would be logistically a huge task to differentiate those that are truly loyal and those that will stay as 'sleepers'... but over a period of a few years I think that ongoing weeding out would result in an effective outcome. Israel would control the education of the Arab population that remains, hopefully instilling a respect for democracy and humanistic concepts devoid of the politics of hate which is endemic in the Arab education system at present. One can only hope and pray. Plan B is to kick out the lot (except for the Druze and the Bedu), send them packing with or without compensation.... I'd prefer plan A if it could be made to work.
