Arrow Religion of Peace First to Promote Genocide in Canada

Religion of Peace First to Promote Genocide in Canada

A Muslim immigrant who called for "the slaughter of Jews" in online postings has become the first person to be charged with promoting genocide in Canada, police said on Friday.

Salman Hossain, a 25-year-old from Bangladesh who apparently left Canada in May, was charged with five counts of promoting hatred and advocating or promoting genocide over postings on his website and blog, as well as on a third-party website, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said.

He "wilfully promoted hatred and advocated genocide of the Jewish community," said a statement.

Until now, Canada has only prosecuted suspects accused of mass atrocities abroad, in countries such as Rwanda. The Canadian government has also deported war crimes suspects to be tried in foreign courts.

Mr Hossain, who immigrated to Canada as a child, openly called for "violent regime change in Western nations in order to remove the presence of Jews" and "the slaughter of Jews," according to reports.

He also advocated terrorist attacks in Canada, cheered the killing of Canadian troops in Afghanistan, and urged fellow Muslims to overthrow the "Jewish-run Canadian government".

"Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms includes the right to freedom of speech and freedom of assembly," said OPP Commissioner Julian Fantino.
"But we must not stand idly by when these rights are used as a shield to promote hatred against any community."

In recent online postings, Mr Hossain said he had left Canada in May, and was now reportedly in South Asia, where he was continuing to advocate racist violence on his website and blog.

"We know that he's out of the country," OPP spokesman Sergeant Pierre Chamberland told AFP. "We're working with various government departments to have him brought before justice."

"It's a tough crime to prosecute because the constitution guarantees freedom of expression, but this case goes over the line," he said, adding: "We have an idea of where he is."

After police visited Mr Hossain at his suburban home in Mississauga, Ontario in 2007, he wrote: "You can't charge me for possessing a thought."

"Yes, I am a fanatic," he would later comment.

"A genocide should be perpetrated against the Jewish populations of North America and Europe," he also wrote.

"Our prime targets will be any major cities with Jews residing in them."
Mr Hossain faces up to 10 years in prison, if convicted of the charges.

Exclamation Polls conclude a significant number, often a majority of muslims support terrorism

Polls conclude a significant number, often a majority of muslims support terrorism

http://barenakedislam.wordpress.com/2010/07/09/next-time-a-muslim-or-liberal-tells-you-only-a-teeny-tiny-percentage-of-muslims-support-terrorism/

Next time a Muslim or liberal tells you only a teeny tiny percentage of Muslims support terrorism…

All the Muslim populations polled display a solid majority of support for Osama bin Laden. Asked whether they have confidence in him, Muslims replied positively, ranging between 8 percent (in Turkey) to 72 percent (in Nigeria). Likewise, suicide bombing is popular. Muslims who call it justified range from 13 percent (in Germany) to 69 percent (in Nigeria). These appalling numbers suggest that terrorism by Muslims has deep roots, and will remain a danger for years to come.

One in eight UK Muslims worldwide ‘support terrorist attacks.’

A recent European poll found that 65% of Palestinians “support Al-Qaeda actions in the USA and Europe.” (Fafo-Norwegian-based NGO, in Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, December 23, 2005) This strong support of those who would destroy America came in spite of hundreds of millions of dollars in annual US aid to thePalestinian alliance and was documented before the US announced a freeze in funding, after the election of the Hamas government.

A document, which was produced by officials from MI5 (British Intelligence) and the British Home and Foreign Offices, entitled “Young Muslims and Extremism” and drawn up for the prime minister by officials at the Home and Foreign and Commonwealth Offices, also states that evidence suggests that up to 13 per cent, or 208,000 of Britain’s 1.6 million Muslims, defended the terrorist attacks against the United States on September 11, 2001, while only 26 per cent feel loyalty toward England. That is not a tiny minority.

Muslim support for terrorist attacks against civilians:

Jordan: 88% sometimes or rarely, 11% never
Lebanon: 58% sometimes or rarely, 33% never
Pakistan: 44% sometimes or rarely, 35% never

These numbers contradict the claim that we are only dealing with a small minority of Muslims. Today’s Islam is a pathology, and a significant portion of those who practice modern Islam are pathological.
However, refusing to criticize, indeed vehemently condemn anything Islamic is pretty irrational, and will be costly if it doesn’t change. If a billion Moslems suddenly rose up in outrage against Usama Bin Lladin, Zawahiri, Nasrallah, Ahab Inajam and the rest of those deranged maniacs, the liberal-socialists and the rest of the world would join them, and we’d have a chance at eliminating this scourge.

Our best policy is to assume that most Muslims support terrorism, unless there is strong evidence–other than their own testimony–to the contrary, goes like this: Those who support evil behavior, or do not resist evil behavior, share responsibility for the evil acts of others. Bystanders who cheer and bystanders who do not intervene are also guilty of the crime. If you are not FOR us, you are against us. I am not a racist, but my conscience could not be clear unless I am actively resisting racism. “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” Edmund Burke

Ergo, most Muslims support terrorism, unless they are actively resisting terrorism. I am quite aware that most Muslims do not commit acts of terror. But their religion requires them to kill non-Muslims, and their religion requires them to lie about their intentions. I would say that I might trust a Muslim wearing the uniform of our military services, but maybe they enlisted, looking for an opportunity to throw a grenade in their officers’ tent. Our best bet is to put Muslims on probation, and assume their terrorist intentions, until we know for sure where they stand.

I have disagreed with many people who claim that the Islamic terror problem is caused by small minority of radicals. Their comments usually say something like “99% of Muslims are peaceful law abiding citizens”. It is always uncomfortable to disagree with some one you like and admire, so I did a little research. Research on American Muslims is rare or biased so here are some facts from around the world.

Polls revealed that 57 percent of British Muslims regarded the campaign against the Taliban as a war on Islam.

When British Muslims were asked, “Is Britain your country?” only one in four claim that it is. Thirty percent of British Muslims would prefer to live under Sharia (Islamic religious) law than under British law. According to the report, “Half of those who express a preference for living under Sharia law say that, given the choice, they would move to a country governed by those laws.”

Twenty-eight percent hope for the U.K. one day to become a fundamentalist Islamic state.

The news is no less alarming on the question of freedom of speech. Seventy-eight percent of British Muslims support punishment for the people who earlier this year published cartoons featuring the Prophet Mohammed. Sixty-eight percent support the arrest and prosecution of those British people who “insult Islam.” When asked if free speech should be protected, even if it offends religious groups, 62 percent of British Muslims say No, it should not. Arrow Islamic cleric linked to jihad attacks in U.S. calls for murder of those who "defame"

Islamic cleric linked to jihad attacks in U.S. calls for murder of those who "defame" Muhammad

And of course "defamation," in this context, means "telling the truth about what he said and did," as well as the Motoons.

"Qaida magazine urges killing of those who defame Mohammed," from AFP, July 1:
DUBAI: An English-language Al-Qaida magazine in its first issue ran an article it said was penned by US-born Yemeni cleric Anwar al-Awlaki calling for the execution of anyone who defames the Prophet Mohammed.

"The proper solution to this growing campaign of defamation" of the prophet is "the execution of those involved," reads the article in web magazine "Inspire," in a text provided by the US monitoring service SITE on Sunday.

The article singles out Seattle-based cartoonist Molly Norris, who satirically proposed to make May 20 an "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day," although Islam bans the depiction of any prophet as blasphemous.

"A cartoonist out of Seattle, Washington, named Molly Norris started the 'Everyone Draw Mohammed Day,'" the article attributed to the radical Yemeni cleric says.

"She should be taken as a prime target of assassination, along with others who participated in her campaign."

"The large number of participants makes it easier for us because there are many targets to choose from," reads the article in al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula's magazine.

The killings should not, however, be limited to "Draw Mohammed" participants, the article says.

"Because (participants) are practising a 'right' that is defended by the law, they have the backing of the entire Western political system. This would make ... attacking any Western target legal from an Islamic viewpoint."

Awlaki, now based in Yemen, rose to prominence last year after it emerged he had communicated by email with Major Nidal Hasan, a US army psychiatrist accused of opening fire on colleagues at Fort Hood, Texas, killing 13.

The imam has also been linked to Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a Nigerian student accused of trying to blow up a Detroit-bound flight with explosives in his underwear on December 25....

Muslims demand Facebook adhere to Islamic/sharia law

http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-1...amicsharia-law

A comment is being circulated on Facebook complaining that the site has not only allowed Islam-critical pages like "Everybody Draw Muhammad Day" to thrive but has also removed four major Muslim Facebook pages with a total of about 2.5 million members. This "chain email" is thus claiming that Facebook has taken a dramatic anti-Islam stance, and the comment is further demanding that the site restore the Islamic pages, make it illegal to criticize Islam, and remove all FB pages that are critical of Islam. In other words, it is demanding that Facebook follow Islamic or sharia law.
While the comment claims that these Islamic pages were not anti-infidel in sentiment, its demands certainly are, and they belie any possibly "peaceful" notion of why these pages should be allowed back on Facebook.

Supporters of free speech are calling for this Islamist comment be searched out on FB and flagged in a show of support for Facebook's creators not to kowtow to censorship and to demonstrate that the non-Muslim world will not be subjugated under Islamic or sharia law.
Here is the comment:

Facebook Admins, Moderators, Mark Zuckerberg, Dustin Moskovitz, Sheryl Sandberg, and Matt Cohler;

Although you have attended the world's best communication skills courses you have been most successful in growing great hatred and hostility between you and Muslims around the world, but seriously this time you have caused an almost unrepairable damage.

Only a few weeks after your irresponsible behavior during the Everybody Draw Mohammed Day events you most aggressively removed four of the largest Islamic Facebook Pages of total fans/likes over 2.5 million Facebook members. That happened on the morning of Thursday 8th July, 2010.

These four Facebook pages were totally peaceful and free of any hate speech, but you removed it ignoring the feelings of more than 2.5 Million Facebook Muslims and disrespecting over 1.5 Billion Muslims worldwide.

And now since that is what it had come down to you, with your irresponsibility and fake preach of freedom of speech, have left us no other choice other than permanently boycotting Facebook. And now we are giving you a 2 weeks notice - ending at midnight of 21st July, 2010 - to fulfill our demands or else we will leave Facebook....

Our demands are:

1- Reactivating the four pages that have been disabled

2- Adding a Facebook Term that illegalizes disrespecting Islamic religious symbols

3- Disabling any Facebook Page, Group, or Event that shows direct or indirect disrespect towards Islamic religious symbols

The pages that were unfairly removed are:

Facebook.com/Rassoul.Allaah - About 1,600,000 Likes
Facebook.com/Logo.Ramadan - About 600,000 Likes
Facebook.com/Love.Mohammed - About 200,000 Likes
Facebook.com/Quran.Lovers - About 70,000 Likes

Arrow Arrest of Christians in Michigan Called an 'Injustice'

Christians' arrest: 1st step to placate Muslims

Four missionaries arrested at an Arab festival in Dearborn, Michigan, have been arraigned.

The missionaries have appeared each year of the Annual Arab International Festival, but this year police moved in and arrested them and confiscated a camera from one member was using to film the arrests. Detroit television station WXYZ was on hand for the arraignment and talked to one of the accused, Nabeel Qureshi.

"Our policy...as we were going through the festival [was] to allow the people to approach us," he explains. "So we did not approach anyone to avoid charges of harassing."

All four are charged with disturbing the peace, but 18-year-old Nageen Mayel, a recent convert from Islam to Christianity, was also charged with refusing to obey a police officer's order to stop filming. "I was scared," she told WXYZ-TV. "There was no reason for them to approach me, so my immediate reaction was fear of the unknown and why they were doing it."....

Arrow Spencer: Detroit Muslims Mourn Terrorist Cleric

Spencer: Detroit Muslims Mourn Terrorist Cleric

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2010/07/sp...st-cleric.html

Shi’ite Muslims in Detroit were in mourning last week for the Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah, a world-renowned Lebanese cleric who died on July 4.

Three Shi’ite mosques conducted memorial services for six nights, with thousands of area Muslims attending.

That ought to give law enforcement and government officials pause, since Fadlallah was a bloodthirsty jihadist cleric who hated America and Israel, and approved of the 1983 Hezbollah attacks on a U.S. Marine barracks and the American Embassy in Beirut that killed over 300.

If what the mainstream media constantly tells us about Islam and Muslims is true, wouldn’t thousands of Muslims in Detroit be denouncing Fadlallah, rather than mourning him? It is constantly demanded of us, on pain of charges of “Islamophobia” and bigotry, that we assume without examination that most Muslims in the U.S.—all but a few “wackos,” such as are found in “any religious group”—are loyal citizens who love constitutional liberties, abhor jihad terrorism, and have no intention of bringing Islamic law here, at any time or in any way, in whole or in part, now or in the future.

So why do so many Detroit-area Muslims love Fadlallah? Shouldn’t patriotic, pluralistic American Muslims oppose such a man, and not engage in such a public display of mourning, simply as a matter of principle? It certainly seems so from Fadlallah’s public record.

Imam Mohammed Elahi of the Islamic House of Wisdom in Dearborn Heights last week called Fadlallah a “man of peace, man of justice ... a man of antiterrorism and antiviolence.” There are some very compelling indications, however, that Elahi’s characterization of Fadlallah was about as accurate as calling Barack Obama an advocate of the free market.

In the words of one the ayatollah’s most notorious admirers, former CNN Mideast editor Octavia Nasr (who lost her job after she lauded Fadlallah on Twitter after he died), Fadlallah “hated with a vengeance the United States government and Israel,” “regularly praised the terror attacks that killed Israeli citizens,” was a Holocaust denier, and was “designated a terrorist by the U.S. Treasury Department.”

None of that seemed to impress the mourners in Detroit. One Detroit Free Press story noted that area Muslim leaders disputed the accuracy of some of these claims about Fadlallah, but they didn’t explain how the false information gained so much currency as to hoodwink the Treasury Department and so many others.

In August 2006, Fadlallah encouraged Hezbollah jihadists who were fighting against Israel: “You are moving ... to reach a new victory for the nation and to defeat the American and Zionist political pride and all the enemies of freedom in the region and the world. You are the soldiers of the Arab and Islamic nation and your struggle will bring victory to Arabs, Muslims and the oppressed.” He characterized their fight as a “new battle of Khaibar.”

As I explain in my book The Truth About Muhammad, Khaibar was less a battle than a massacre: Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, suddenly appeared at the Arabian oasis of Khaibar, which was inhabited by Jews, and he and his men began killing in earnest. Thus when modern-day jihadists invoke Khaibar, they are recalling an aggressive, surprise raid by Muhammad, which resulted in the final eradication of the once considerable Jewish presence in Arabia. To the jihadists, Khaybar means the destruction of the Jews and the seizure of their property by the Muslims.

Not surprisingly, Hezbollah’s chief Hassan Nasrallah eulogized Fadlallah as a “merciful father.” Also not surprisingly, Fadlallah was a dear friend of Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini, the architect of the Iranian revolution. Yet thousands of Muslims in the Detroit area turned out to pay final respects to this man.

Could it be that we’ve been sold a bill of goods about what Muslims in the U.S. really think, and need to examine that subject much more closely?

Could the knee-jerk assumption on the part of government, media and law enforcement that all Muslims in America are “moderates” who abhor jihad terrorism and work against it, be false. And could it be leading us to expose ourselves to unnecessary vulnerability? A great deal could be riding on the answer to that question.

Arrow Chicago: Two Misunderstanders of Islam get jail for jihad plots

Chicago: Two Misunderstanders of Islam get jail for jihad plots
Earlier today a reporter contacted me to remonstrate with me for my treatment of the reporter in this video. However, I am finished with playing along with the grand pretense that reporters are objective, neutral observers of events, and not the relentless and viciously unfair ideologues that they are. This story, a minor AP piece about some minor jihadists in Toledo, Ohio, is a case in point as to why they deserve no professional respect whatsoever.

Look first at the headline: two "terror plotters" were sentenced. So far they could be anyone. Islamic jihadists? Maybe? Could also be "Christian extremists" (who will surely be along in a minute to bear out every Bronx schoolgirl's desperate and paranoid fear of them). Or maybe Tamil Tigers. Maoist fanatics. You never know. So let's read on.

"Federal judge in Toledo sentences 2 terror plotters," from AP, July 12:
TOLEDO -- Two Chicago-area cousins who pleaded guilty to taking part in a plot to attack American soldiers overseas have been sentenced to prison terms by a federal judge in Ohio.
Ah. Now we're getting somewhere. They were "Chicago-area cousins." That seems to be the most important bit of information about them, because that's what the AP reporter chose as the lead identifier for them. So did they take part in a "plot to attack American soldiers overseas" -- maybe lazy recruits in a sleepy, outmoded, and no longer necessary Cold War outpost in Germany, for all we know from the story so far -- because they were from the Chicago area? Is Chicago in rebellion against the United States government? Or is it that this is some sort of weird cousins' plot, a Manson-family type thing?
Prosecutors say the two men were training to kill soldiers and had ties to three men in Toledo who were convicted of organizing the plot.
Ah. They were "men." And they had ties to three other "men." So maybe the problem here is males, the source testosterone. Extra screening for men in airports! Now!
Toledo federal Judge James Carr today sentenced Khaleel Ahmed of Chicago, to 8 years, four months, and Zubair Ahmed of suburban North Chicago to 10 years.
Both pleaded guilty in January 2009 to conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists.
Hmmm. Khaleel Ahmed and Zubair Ahmed. What an odd coincidence: both names strongly suggest that these two are adherents of the Religion of Peace™! Yet Obama and Brennan tell us that Islam has nothing to do with terrorism, and so AP doesn't even come close to mentioning the possibility that it could have had anything to do with their motivations.
Authorities say the men once traveled to Egypt with the intent to commit violence and that they met with an FBI informant and talked about learning to shoot machine guns and sniper rifles.
Egypt, eh? How odd. One would think that one of the many peaceful adherents of Islam in Egypt would have stopped them there.

In any case, the AP story, like all other mainstream media stories, leaves the reader thoroughly unequipped to understand why the Ahmed cousins got involved in this plot, and what they hoped to accomplish. No wonder the state of awareness about the jihad threat in America is so abysmally low today.

Thumbs down Philadelphia’s Islamist Boy Scouts »

Philadelphia’s Islamist Boy Scouts
City youth fall into the hands of Muslim extremists
by Joe Kaufman and Beila Rabinowitz

Most Muslim extremists first radicalize their youth via sermon and brainwashing. One group, however, is skipping those steps and is taking the youngest of children right to the paramilitary route. But this group is not in Afghanistan or Iraq. No, it’s in Philadelphia, the so-called ‘City of Brotherly Love.’

The United Muslim Movement (UMM) was incorporated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in June 1994, with the goal of creating a central mosque in the city along with an organization that would be able to “respond to the social, economical, political, educational, and religious needs facing our [UMM’s] communities.” Less than four months later, in October 1994, its first mosque, the United Muslim Masjid, was opened.

The owner of the mosque property and the face behind UMM is music and real estate magnate Kenneth Gamble, a.k.a. Luqman Abdul Haqq.

In the mid-1970s, following a nervous breakdown over personal and professional troubles, Gamble began to turn to the Islamic religion, getting involved with such groups as the Nation of Islam (NOI). At the time, NOI was moving towards the leadership of Louis Farrakhan, a combative personality most known for his anti-white and anti-Jewish statements.

Today, Gamble is a member of the Board of Directors (Majlis ash-Shura) of the Muslim Alliance in North America (MANA), a Muslim Brotherhood-related group headed by Siraj Wahhaj, an “unindicted co-conspirator” of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Gamble has been involved with MANA’s leadership since the group was initially established as a national organization in April 2001, at the UMM mosque.

UMM has interests beyond the building of mosques. One of them deals with children’s activities – violence-based children’s activities.
Jawala Scouts or the Jawala Scout Youth Leadership Program, an Islamic paramilitary boys group, was incorporated in Philadelphia in August 2005. It was founded a short time before that.

The children joining Jawala Scouts are as young as seven years of age. This is disconcerting, when considering some of the activities of the group, which include hand-to-hand combat, firearms training and survival tactics. Photographs from the group’s official website show the kids dressed in military fatigues, hiking through the woods, and engaged in wrestling.

What makes things worse are the type of individuals linked to Jawala Scouts. One is Carlin Saafir, the Legal Officer and 1st Lieutenant of the scouts. Saafir is also the President of UMM, a member of the UMM Masjid’s Board of Directors (General Council), and the Joint Community Outreach Chair of the Philadelphia office of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), an entity affiliated with the terrorist organization Hamas.

The Registrant, Administrator and Technical Contact of Jawala’s site is Curtis De Veaux. In February 2005, De Veaux was suspended without pay from his job as a Philadelphia firefighter for refusing to shave his beard – deemed a security hazard – arguing that it was part of his being a devout Muslim.

The e-mail contact associated with the Jawala site,********** appears to be that of Kenneth Gamble. That would make sense, as the group registered its corporation using the same physical address as UMM, 800 S. 15th Street.

Another organization associated with Jawala Scouts is the Sankore’ Institute of Islamic-African Studies International (SIIASI), an anti-Western preservation society for rare African Muslim manuscripts. According to the Pittsburgh City Paper, SIIASI “started” the scout program.

SIIASI has been the subject of investigations by the FBI, which included a June 2006 raid on the institute’s premises. There may be a number of reasons for the government’s interest in the group.

One is the fact that the membership of SIIASI primarily consists of ex-felons. Pictures on the group’s official website display SIIASI associates brandishing guns and swords. In one photo, which appears to have been taken in the U.S., an individual is seen holding a rifle on his lap, while a young boy kneels close to him.

Another reason for the FBI’s concern over SIIASI is the extreme rhetoric that is spread by the organization’s leader.

Muhammad Shareef is the Director of SIIASI. He established the group in the Republic of Sudan in December 1985, along with a small group of others, which included the Sultan of Maiurno, Sudan, al-Hajj Abu Bakr ibn Muhammad.

Shareef, a co-founder and former board member of MANA, left his Pennsylvania home to live in China, where he resides today. He has been outspoken in his hatred of the United States, frequently referring to the U.S. as “Amerikkka.”

Only last month, in June, Shareef railed against those whom he considers Muslim moderates, when he stated the following on the SIIASI official website: “This activist method [adherence to the Sunna (Way) of Islam] is diametrically opposed to the pseudo-religion redefined by the pacifist ‘imams’ who deny the obligation of jihad [holy war] and who have deluded their followers into the fruitless activity of supporting democratic constitutional government.”

Shareef’s aggressive language against the U.S. and in favor of violence is disturbing to say the least. But what’s more disturbing is that he and others from similar backgrounds have interaction with and/or connections to children, including those who are just starting to develop thoughts of their own.

Jawala Scouts are no Boy Scouts. The group is run by those who wish to use the most innocent in our society for sinister means. It is a type of abuse that, up until this point, has gone unnoticed. But now that it’s been made public, the public needs to speak out, so that the city of Philadelphia does the right thing.

What we do not want to hear is that the next terrorist attacker was formerly a member of Jawala Scouts.

Joe Kaufman is the Chairman of Americans Against Hate and the founder of CAIR Watch. He has been responsible for the closure of at least one terror-related charity and has convinced a number of government officials to shun the Hamas front group, CAIR. In June 2009, he won a lawsuit brought against him by seven Dallas-area radical Muslim organizations.

Beila Rabinowitz is the Director of Militant Islam Monitor.

Arrow Buffalo: Moderate Muslim who beheaded wife says he's the real victim

Buffalo: Moderate Muslim who beheaded wife says he's the real victim

This would be laughable if it didn't involve a woman without a head. In any case, it is a classic example of the essentially universal tendency on the part of Islamic supemacists and jihadists to blame everyone but themselves for what they have done. In a larger sense, this is exactly like the jihadis blaming American foreign policy for the global jihad, and is related to the campaign to get the West to "stop linking Islam with terrorism": Islamic jihadists link Islam with terrorism with consistency and religious fervor, but if a Western non-Muslim notices this, he is "hateful," "bigoted," "Islamophobic," "ignorant of Islam," etc. Never would the Muslims who accuse non-Muslims of "hate" for "linking Islam with terrorism" ever look to themselves, see the responsibility for the link as being within the Muslim community rather than outside it, and challenge those jihadists instead.

From our bulging It's-Always-Someone-Else's-Fault File: "Hassan says he's the victim: Facing murder charge, he blames slain wife," by Sandra Tan in the Buffalo News, July 17:
Muzzammil "Mo" Hassan, the Orchard Park man charged in the stabbing and decapitation of his wife in February 2009, said last week that he is an honest man prepared to speak the truth.

And the truth, he said, is that he is the real victim.

Contrary to the pile of evidence and witness corroboration that he mentally tormented and physically beat his wife over a period of years, he said, the truth is that he was the one "emotionally tortured" by his outwardly kind and sweet-natured wife, Aasiya Zubair Hassan.

Few believe him, however.

"It, to me, sounds like a desperate attempt by a person who does not have a credible defense," said Suzanne Tomkins, the clinical professor at the University at Buffalo Law School who runs a domestic violence law clinic.
Sure does, doesn't it?
In brief conversations with The News at the Erie County Holding Center last week, Hassan said that immediately after his wife was killed, he could have fled the country. "I could have gone to Toronto, taken a direct flight to Pakistan, and I speak the language fluently," he said.

Instead, he said he chose to turn himself in and adhere to Gandhi's principle of "satyagraha" -- to seek the truth without selfish interests.
Gandhi, yet! What a manipulator this murderer is! But of course, we already knew that about him: he was the founder of Bridges TV, a network designed to give "Islamophobic" Westerners a "positive," "moderate" image of Muslims -- until the day he beheaded his wife inside the Bridges TV studios.
The former banker and head of an Islam-oriented cable network faces a murder trial in September. Erie County Judge Thomas P. Franczyk recently ruled that Hassan's statement from Feb. 12, 2009, that he just killed his wife, is admissible as evidence.
Hassan has spared no effort in promoting his own version of events and taking control of his own case. He has sent The News a dozen handwritten letters -- two under the false authorship of his mother -- and fired two of his lawyers since his incarceration.
If he hadn't beheaded his wife, this propagandist could easily find gainful employ with the Palestinian PR machine, or any number of Leftist publications.
A News reporter met with Hassan and discussed the possibility of conducting an extensive interview with him in the future, in the presence of his lawyer.

Hassan said he would agree to an extended interview on two main conditions: That he determines when and where the story would run and that he would be the only person interviewed for it.

The Buffalo News refused those terms, quoting instead from last week's meetings and his letters.

Hassan has never publicly denied killing his wife. Instead, he has suggested he will build his court defense on the grounds that as a long-abused spouse, he finally snapped and killed his wife in a desperate bid to end the psychological abuse inflicted upon him.

He stated last week that in cases where battered women kill their abuser, they "overkill" them -- shooting the abuser five times instead of once, for example. And they rarely try to run or hide after the homicide, he said, clearly attempting to draw parallels to his own case.

Police have accused Hassan of repeatly stabbing, then beheading his wife after meeting with her alone in their Orchard Park television studio.

Aasiya had filed for divorce a week before her death and told others she feared for her safety. She had filed multiple police complaints, received orders of protection, produced photos of her injuries, and signed an extensive divorce affidavit attesting to her trauma. Her husband was also investigated by Child Protective Services.

Hassan, however, contends he is the one who suffered immense psychological abuse and humiliation during his seven-year marriage to a wife who publicly nurtured a false image as a kinder and more sympathetic woman.

"All abuse happens behind closed doors, thus NO witnesses," Hassan stated in his most recent letter. "All abuse is psychological, emotional wounds are not visible, thus NO evidence. . . . What a perfect crime! Only the poorly trained abusers use physical violence and get caught, for physical abuse leaves behind evidence."

Domestic violence advocates are unimpressed by Hassan's defense....

Many of Hassan's letters include hand-drawn charts chronicling the "spiral of abuse" and other abuse statistics and theories, or articles about battered men.

He stated that he repeatedly tried to get his wife to face the fact that she needed psychological help, without success, and that his claims of abuse were dismissed by local domestic violence victim advocates because he was a man subjected to "sexist ideology."

"Anytime I sought outside help, I got falsely accused of sexual misconduct or physical abuse -- more than 12+ police reports, each in response to my reaching out for help from counselors, my family or her family," he stated.

He said he sought help from more than two dozen domestic violence professionals in Erie County but was told he was "blaming the victim," or "in denial." He said last week that when he told an Orchard Park police officer at his home in 2006 that his wife was abusing him, the officer laughed in his face.

But those familiar with the Hassan case say Hassan's profile fits all the markers for an abuser, not a victim.

In his defense, Hassan said he has more than 2,000 e-mails between himself and his wife dating back to 2000 showing Aasiya to be an emotionally unstable, abusive and manipulative woman who came from a troubled family. He offered to share some of the e-mails if The News agreed to his terms.

Aasiya stated in her divorce papers that in December 2007, when a child-neglect proceeding was pending against Hassan, he forced her to tell him her e-mail password, then logged into her account and sent out messages pretending to be her.

Hassan denied the charge, saying that if he was capable of forcing his wife to hand over her e-mail account password, why wasn't he able to require her to get the psychological counseling that experts "agreed" she needed during their years of marriage?

Recurring theme
He also denied allegations that he not only abused Aasiya, his third wife, but also his second wife by arranged marriage, Sadia Hussain Hassan. They divorced after 13 months with the intervention of the Muslim community in Rochester.

He said he took out an order of protection against his second wife and eventually divorced her because she, too, was abusing him, not the other way around.

"I moved out of home with Sadia Hussain due to her extreme abuse," he wrote. "She continued her abuse with letters to M&T Bank CEO [Hassan's former employer]. The bank helped me get a protection order against her. And the court granted me divorce on the grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment by Sadia."

Those who assisted with his second wife's divorce said that while Hassan attempted to force Sadia to say she abused him in divorce proceedings by holding her immigration status over her, she refused.
Yes, clearly beheading was your only remaining option, Mo.

Minneapolis: Somali jihadist gets four months in prison for lying about role in terror aid plot

The Star Tribune headline refers to "Somali terror," but there is nothing specifically or inherently Somali about it. After all, "those recruited by Faarax were reportedly trained by Somali, Arab and Western instructors."

Now why would Arabs and Westerners care to train people to fight in Somalia? Obviously the answer is Islam, Islamic jihad and Islamic supremacism -- the motivating factor that the mainstream media and government dare not name.

"First man is sentenced in local Somali terror probe," by James Walsh for the Star Tribune, July 17:
A federal judge on Friday sentenced the first man out of more than a dozen charged in a sweeping counterterrorism investigation that has spanned more than two years and several continents and focused a spotlight on the Twin Cities Somali community.

Abdow Munye Abdow, 26, was a relatively small player in a major drama involving the recruitment of 20 or more local men of Somali descent to aid and, in some cases, fight for the Somali terrorist group Al-Shabaab. U.S. District Judge James Rosenbaum sentenced Abdow to four months behind bars and four months of home confinement for lying to federal agents investigating the case....

A total of 14 men, most of whom lived in the Minneapolis area, have been charged or indicted in connection with an investigation that began more than two years ago, after young Somali men from Minnesota started secretly slipping away from their families.

Five of the 14, including Abdow, have pleaded guilty in connection with the case. One local man awaits trial. Another sits in jail in the Netherlands, awaiting extradition. The rest are believed to have fled the country and remain at large.

Five Somali men have been killed in the fighting waged by Al-Shabaab for control of war-torn Somalia. Another Minneapolis man, a convert to Islam, also was killed....

The Minnesota investigation took off in October 2008, when Shirwa Ahmed, an American citizen who attended high school and college in Minneapolis, died as part of a coordinated suicide bombing attack in northern Somalia. Ahmed's death immediately heightened fears in the U.S. intelligence community that other Somali men from the United States who left to train and fight with a terrorist group might return to the United States and carry out an attack here.

While FBI officials say they've found no evidence of planned attacks on U.S. soil, investigators learned that many of the men who left here were indeed trained to fight in Somalia.

Over the next year, investigators say, more than a dozen young local men were seduced to the cause of fighting for Al-Shabaab, a group the U.S. State Department said is aligned with Al-Qaida. Al-Shabaab has been fighting for control of Somalia, but it also has extended its reach with attacks in neighboring countries.

One of the key local figures in romanticizing the fight was Cabdulaahi Ahmed Faarax. According to court records, Faarax used stories of his own fighting in Somalia to recruit others.

As part of his pitch, Faarax said that he "experienced true brotherhood" while fighting. Travel for jihad was the best thing that they could do, he said.

Those recruited by Faarax were reportedly trained by Somali, Arab and Western instructors "in the use of small arms, machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades, and military-style tactics," records say. They also were indoctrinated against Ethiopian, American, Israeli and Western beliefs....

Jihadists planned Christmas 2009 attack on New York clubs, restaurants

Hoping to "strike terror into the hearts of the enemies of Allah" (Qur'an 8:60)

"Second terror attack may have targeted city's clubs, restaurants," by Mike Levine for FoxNews/Newscore via the New York Post, July 16:
The failed bombing attempt over Detroit on Christmas Day may not have been the only attack that extremists planned for the 2009 holiday, with intelligence from overseas indicating three weeks earlier that a plot targeting New York City on the same day may have been in the works, according to an FBI report obtained Friday by the Fox News Channel.

"The final target of the attack was not known, but extremist members had allegedly discussed restaurants and night clubs located in New York City," the FBI's assistant legal attache in London wrote in a so-called threat report exactly three weeks before Christmas.

"The extremists allegedly discussed conducting the attack on Dec. 25, to coincide with the Christmas holiday."

The Dec. 4 report, sent to U.S. and British counterterrorism officials, warned that "extremists allegedly planned to conduct a test run" that evening, hiding components for an improvised explosive device in a shipment of khat, a plant often chewed like tobacco that is a tradition for many in East Africa and the Arabian Peninsula.

"The extremists allegedly planned to smuggle unknown components of an unspecified explosive device onto a cargo flight departing ... Nairobi, Kenya on Dec. 4 with a final destination of London, England," said the report, which did not not identify the extremists or disclose the source of the information. "The group allegedly did not intend to detonate an explosive device on an aircraft."

In England, a "Caucasian British Muslim ... would [allegedly] facilitate the transfer of the components to [a] flight bound for NYC," according to the report.

In New York, "the group was coordinating its efforts with a Somali man living [in the city]," said the report, which identified the possible U.S. suspect only as "Mohammed." The report did not say whether "Mohammed" was a first name or a surname, noting that authorities had no further information about him....

Exclamation N. Carolina Man Appears to Be Top Editor of Al Qaeda Magazine, U.S. Officials Say

N. Carolina Man Appears to Be Top Editor of Al Qaeda Magazine, U.S. Officials Say

A young North Carolina man who has moved to Yemen appears to be the editor-in-chief of a flashy new Al Qaeda magazine that features bomb-making instructions and an article by Usama bin Laden, U.S. officials said Monday.

Samir Khan, a 24-year-old American citizen who left the country last October, is believed to be the top editor of Inspire, a newly launched online magazine that seeks to recruit members of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula – the notorious terror group's Yemeni branch that is linked to the attempted bombing of a Detroit-bound U.S. flight last Christmas.

The 67-page online publication, written in colloquial English and launched last month, features flashy graphics and punchy headlines like "Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom,” as well an article on global warming said to be written by Bin Laden.

Anwar Al-Awlaki, an America-born cleric linked to several attacks on the U.S., including the Foot Hood massacre and the failed Times Square car bomb plot, has held a prominent role with the site and was thought to be its key proponent. Al-Awlaki, designated by the U.S. Treasury Department on Friday as a key leader in Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, recently posted an article on the site titled “May Our Souls be Sacrificed for You,” in which he called for the Seattle cartoonist who launched "Everybody Draw Muhammad Day" to be executed.

But intelligence sources told Fox News on Monday that they believe Khan, a web-savvy Charlotte, N.C., man who reportedly moved to Yemen to study Arabic, may be the mastermind behind the site – which some in the intelligence community are calling Al Qaeda's most ambitious terrorist recruitment tool to date.

Intelligence analysts say Khan represents a new generation of computer-savvy radicals whose online tactics have become increasingly influential in recruiting violent jihadists abroad and promoting acts of terrorism within the U.S.

"Khan’s capabilities of publishing things fairly quickly and his web savviness elevates him in Al Qaeda’s PR media arm,” said David Draper, director of strategic operations for NEFA, a U.S. terror-watch group. “The launch of this English magazine is extraordinarily important.”

Khan first gained attention in 2007 when intelligence officials began monitoring his militant Islamic blog, "Inshallahshaheed” ("A martyr soon if God wills") from his parents’ home in Charlotte, N.C. Citing free speech laws, U.S. officials never charged him with a crime, arguing that Khan’s website never crossed the line from inflammatory rhetoric to violence.

Khan was born in Saudi Arabia and moved to Queens, N.Y., when he was 7. FoxNews.com profiled Khan in 2008, traveling to Charlotte to interview him about his website, which called for the death of U.S. soldiers in Iraq and featured blood-drenched videos of U.S. troops injured in combat. Khan declined to comment, saying only that the messages on his blog “represent Muslims.”

In a later e-mail sent to FoxNews.com, Khan lashed out at the "arrogance" of the media, saying it should focus instead on converting to Islam. "When you go down in to the earth six feet deep, nothing will matter except what Religion you died upon," he wrote.

Draper and other terrorism analysts say Khan’s new role with the Al Qaeda website gives U.S. officials ample evidence to charge him with aiding a terrorist organization.

Under the Patriot Act, he said, U.S. authorities “have enough to charge him with providing material support."

"You do not have the right to aid and abet a terrorist organization in the United States,” added Neil Livingstone, chairman and CEO of ExecutiveAction LLC, a security consultancy based in Washington. “You can agree with Al Qaeda’s ends and means, but the moment that you start recruiting or sending messages, you’ve run afoul of the law."

Spencer: Muslim Beheads Wife, Claims Victim Status

At Human Events today I discuss Muzzammil Hassan's grotesque attempt to portray himself as the victim of the wife he beheaded:
In February 2009, Aasiya Z. Hassan, a 37-year-old Muslim woman, was founded decapitated in Orchard Park, N.Y., a village near Buffalo. Her husband, Muzzammil Hassan, 44, admits that he beheaded his wife. Yet now, in a bizarre turn in the case, Muzzammil Hassan has claimed that he was the real victim in the case, driven to murder his wife after enduring years of her emotional and physical abuse.

The case stands as a classic example of the universal tendency on the part of Islamic supemacists and jihadists to blame everyone but themselves for what they have done.

In a larger sense, Muzzammil Hassan's attempt to claim that he was actually the victim of the woman he beheaded is exactly like the jihadis blaming American foreign policy for the global jihad, and is related to the campaign to get the West to "stop linking Islam with terrorism."

Islamic jihadists link Islam with terrorism with consistency and religious fervor, but if a Western non-Muslim notices this, he is "hateful," "bigoted," "Islamophobic," "ignorant of Islam," etc. Never would the Muslims who accuse non-Muslims of "hate" for "linking Islam with terrorism" ever look to themselves, see the responsibility for the link as being within the Muslim community rather than outside it, and challenge those jihadists instead.

It is always someone else's fault. In this case, according to the Buffalo News, "Hassan has never publicly denied killing his wife. Instead, he has suggested he will build his court defense on the grounds that as a long-abused spouse, he finally snapped and killed his wife in a desperate bid to end the psychological abuse inflicted upon him." Hassan himself has claimed that "anytime I sought outside help, I got falsely accused of sexual misconduct or physical abuse--more than 12 police reports, each in response to my reaching out for help from counselors, my family or her family."

Poor lamb. Clearly the only option left open to him was to behead his wife.

Exclamation Hezbollah & Hamas Supporter Speaks to NY Schools

In communicating with Hassan Shibly, it’s hard to see why this frequent guest speaker at schools in New York would be embroiled in a controversy. He’s easy to converse with and kind. He passionately condemns terrorism (including the 9/11 attacks) and sings the praises of America. But shortly after January 10, when he gave nine presentations during his fourth visit to Clarence High School, he became part of a controversy when a mother of a student that listened to Shibly reported that he blamed the 9/11 attacks on U.S. foreign policy, specifically support for Israel. The mother later found out that he doesn’t consider Hezbollah to be a terrorist group. School officials defended Shibly in emails to the mother and he defends his position by saying it is backed by top political scientists.

Shibly says he has spoken to over 40 high school classes in New York. He claims that he only focuses on the basics of Islam and avoids discussion of political issues unless asked during the Q&A session. Shibly engaged in a back-and-forth with Nonie Darwish over what he was alleged to have said (it can be read here). He attributes the criticism of him by the mother and Darwish to an anti-Islam agenda. The mother says her 14-year old son lacks the political awareness to make up the statements he said Shibly made, and indeed, background research on Shibly does show that he has controversial beliefs that parents should be aware of.

Shibly is not shy about stating that “Hezbollah is absolutely not a terrorist organization.” Rather, he says the group is a “resistance movement” and “any war against them is illegitimate.” On his Facebook page, he posted an interview where Norman Finkelstein praises the group. In his extensive communication with me, he has refused to condemn Hamas as a whole or refer to them as a “terrorist” group, saying such labels are too simplistic and would write off the group as a peace partner that could be negotiated with. He instead condemned violence against innocent civilians by both Israel and Hamas, and said that he would not describe Israel as a “terrorist state” for the same reasons.

He compliments the late Syrian Sheikh Ahmad Kuftaro, the former grand mufti of Syria, for “speak[ing] out for the oppressed.” He links to Kuftaro’s website, and Shibly’s father has organized trips to the sheikh’s center in Syria. Although Shibly did not have a personal relationship with Kuftaro, that isn’t the case with his father. In 2002, Kuftaro had neo-Nazi William Baker as a speaker at his mosque, as well as Louis Farrakhan. In 2004, Kuftaro called on the world’s Muslims to “use all means possible to thwart the aggression, including martyr operations against the belligerent American, British and Zionist invaders,” and specifically mentioned Iraq as a place where Muslims should fight. He also held a meeting with Hamas leaders where he said all Muslims were required “to do jihad upon the Zionists.”

Shibly also praises Sheikh Rajab Deeb, a top disciple of Kuftaro’s. Deeb has called on Syria to obtain nuclear weapons and rails against the Jewish lobby in the U.S. Deeb holds a position in the Syrian regime, which is listed by the U.S. as a state sponsor of terrorism. In May 2005, Deeb gave a sermon where he accused Jews of trying to “eradicate every race except their race.” Shibly said he was unaware of these statements and does not support them.

Shibly has received some attention for his lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security, which has been dismissed. In 2004, he and others were detained at the Canadian border as they tried to re-enter the country from the Reviving the Islamic Spirit Conference in Toronto. He felt their detainment was based on the sole fact that they are Muslims, but the government said it “had credible intelligence that conferences similar to the one from which these individuals were leaving were being used by terrorist organizations to fundraise and to hide the travel of terrorists themselves.”

The mother of the student accuses Shibly of saying that the perpetrators of 9/11 were not Muslims, but he says this was taken out of context. He meant they were not acting as true Muslims and were motivated by politics, not religion or ideology. When questioned by me about who carried out the attacks, he said that al-Qaeda was “probably” behind them but he was unsure.

He cited three stories about how the U.S. supposedly lied to get involved in Vietnam, British operatives disguised as terrorists were arrested in Iraq after a clash with police, and Israeli agents were allegedly videotaping the attacks on the World Trade Center and cheering and were subsequently deported. Shibly also appears to court the idea that the U.S. is behind terrorism in Iraq to justify its presence. On July 16, 2009, he wrote on his Facebook page that “America does not (at least publicly) support Iraqi Suiccide [sic] Bombers.” He wrote in a December 9, 2007, note that “there is evidence that U.S. and UK are involved in instigating sectarian violence.”

On Shibly’s Facebook page, he also posted a link to a 9/11 conspiracy article with a comment from him calling the “9/11 Commission all lies [sic].” He defended himself by saying he doesn’t necessarily endorse the links he posts but is just trying to stir up discussion. He also lists himself as a “fan” of Khalid Yasin, a radical Muslim cleric who says the U.S. military invented AIDS, doesn’t believe al-Qaeda was involved in 9/11, and has been accused of engaging in fraud by an Australian newspaper. He also has various other ties to extremism. Shibly also linked to various lectures by Yasin, but says he was unaware of these other statements, which he disagrees with, and appreciated being informed of them. He is also a member of a Facebook group calling for the release of Sami al-Arian.

His Facebook and MySpace profiles act almost as a catalogue of complaints about U.S. and Israeli human rights abuses. He regularly condemns Israeli “state terrorism” and describes the country as an apartheid state. He told me that he wants each person in Israel to have one vote — a change that he surely knows would lead to the destruction of Israel. He posted an article by Alison Weir, of the virulently anti-Israel group “If Americans Knew,” accusing Israel of “ethnic cleansing” and a litany of other heinous crimes while defending Helen Thomas in lieu of her recent controversy.

He wrote “I love these people” in reference to the Neturei Karta, an Orthodox Jewish group that seeks to end the state of Israel and supports Hamas and Ahmadinejad. Shibly has an article in a Facebook note titled “The grandchildren of Holocaust Survivors from World War II Are Doing to the Palestinians Exactly What Was Done to Them by Nazi Germany.” He also promotes anti-Israeli propaganda, linking to a music video that depicts the Israeli military as recklessly destroying a Palestinian town and posting a cartoon of an evil-looking Israeli soldier and helicopter massacring civilians.

Shibly told me that he feels that “people who are oppressed and occupied have the right to defend themselves so long as they too do not oppress.” When I asked him if this meant he supported attacks on U.S. soldiers in Iraq, considering he believes they are occupiers, he said he did not support violence unless it is in “self-defense,” such as when someone is being raped or attacked.

His disdain for America’s foreign policy rivals his disdain for Israel. He gave a speech where he described the U.S. as acting as an imperialist, conquering other countries for their oil. He has linked to an article calling for the prosecution of President Bush as a war criminal. He has twice linked to a speech where a former soldier speaks out against “American terrorism,” saying it is being done at the behest of war profiteers and that racism in the military is used for imperialism. “We were told we were fighting terrorists. The real terrorist was me and the real terrorism was the occupation,” the speaker says. Shibly titles the link “Former American Terrorist Denounces American Terrorism.”

Shibly is to be commended for posting a note aimed at combating propaganda against U.S. soldiers, containing pictures of them playing with Iraqi children and other good acts showing the true nature of America. This was much later followed by a video of marines abusing a dog and later the posting of a segment promoting the incredibly biased WikiLeaks video depicting an alleged U.S. massacre of civilians in Iraq and a story about NATO killing pregnant women in Afghanistan.

“I do not believe the U.S. is in a war against Islam nor do I believe the U.S. is oppressive to Muslims domestically,” he assured me. On the other hand, he accused the FBI of “playing dirty” in reaction to this report and accused them of using informants in mosques to spread extremism based on this article. A video hosted by the Council on American-Islamic Relations portraying the death of Imam Abdullah as a murder based on an autopsy is also promoted, along with an article doubting the allegations against him. A video claiming that an innocent Muslim convert that is a pilot is now on the terrorist watch list was posted. It had the following sub-heading: “How Americans are making Muslims life [sic] as miserable as can be.” In another Facebook update, he posted a video reporting that American soldiers in Afghanistan were encouraged to talk about their religious beliefs, along with a comment about how it proves that the U.S. government “is engaged in a religious war.”

Shibly’s Facebook page says he “likes” the Council on American-Islamic Relations, where he previously interned. This organization is a Muslim Brotherhood front with ties to Hamas. It was labeled by the federal government as an “unindicted co-conspirator” in the trial of the Holy Land Foundation, which was found to be a front for Hamas. Shortly after the release of Muslim Mafia, a book meticulously documenting CAIR’s corruption and extremism, he linked to a Rachel Maddow segment mocking the reaction of members of Congress who were concerned about the organization’s attempts to place interns in government offices. Shibly also has linked to the website of the Islamic Relief Worldwide, which Israel accuses of being tied to Hamas.

When I spoke to him about his beliefs about democracy, he firmly said that he believed the U.S. should remain a secular democracy, but that he supported the establishment of sharia law for countries where Muslims are the majority. He warned me that true sharia law does not oppress minorities and doesn’t look like the tyrannical form we see today. On his Facebook page, he says that Islam mandates that women wear the niqab.
M. Zuhdi Jasser, the founder of the American-Islamic Forum for Democracy and a devout Muslim, expressed concern over Clarence High School’s use of Shibly as a guest speaker in a letter to the board of Clarence Central School District dated May 10, 2010.

“I frankly have very deep problems with [his support for Hezbollah] as a Muslim and as an American,” Jasser wrote. He also pointed out that he is of Syrian origin and is “dismayed” at Shibly’s support for Sheikh Kuftaro.

“Mr. Shibly seems at times to support or work with Islamists who are leading advocates for political Islam. But when they become violent, he tries to distance himself with no corroborating public record to demonstrate a genuine ideological battle,” he wrote.

Dr. Khaleel Mohammed of San Diego State University also expressed concern about exposing students to Shibly, describing his ideas as “retrogressive,” particularly about not shaking hands with females.

“Those are not values that should be taught as part of Islam, and any person who purveys this sort of garbage in the name of ANY religion does a disservice to his religious community, but more so to the school district that has him speak,” Mohammed said.

According to an editorial in the Clarence Bee, which defends Shibly, the controversy has led to changes in the Clarence School District’s guest speaker policies. A 30-day advance notice will be given ahead of speakers deemed to be controversial and presentations will be recorded. In response to criticism about only hosting a Muslim speaker without alternate viewpoints or religions being represented, the school will consider having a panel instead.

Hassan Shibly staunchly denies accusations that he is soft on fighting extremism and terrorism, and the school’s officials staunchly defended him in their emails to the mother of the 14-year-old student. As a speaker, Shibly is put in a position of respect and credibility in front of impressionable students who can be influenced by his beliefs during the Q&A even if his main presentation is non-political. The community of Clarence, New York, needs to be aware of the man their school system is allowing to be presented as a representative of Muslims.

Exclamation German study:Boys growing up in pious Muslim families are more likely to be violent

New German study:
Boys growing up in pious Muslim families are more likely to be violent

It appears yet again that the more observant and devout one is in Islam, the more likely one is to Misunderstand the Religion of Peace. "A new German study shows that boys growing up in pious Muslim families are more likely to be violent," from the National Secular Society via Muslims Debate, n.d. (thanks to F.P.):
A new German study shows that boys growing up in pious Muslim families are more likely to be violent.

The study, which involved intensive questioning of 45,000 teenagers from 61 towns and regions across the country, was conducted by Christian Pfeiffer of the criminal research institute of Lower Saxony.

Pfeiffer was quick to assure the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper that he was not a racist or 'Islamophobe' and that, in fact, he had been dismayed by the results of the survey....
News flash, Pfeiffer: there are few, if any, actual "Islamophobes," and this caveat will not prevent you from being labeled one. Those who are called "Islamophobes" are those who have studied the texts and teachings of Islam and how those texts and teachings are applied in Islamic societies and among Muslims in the West. Often many of these "Islamophobes" were dismayed by what they were seeing.
[...] Pfeiffer said that even when other social factors were taken into account, there remained a significant correlation between religiosity and readiness to use violence. There were some positive correlations too he said, noting that young religious Muslims were much less likely than their non-Muslim counterparts to drink alcohol - or to steal from shops. The increased likelihood to use violence was restricted to Muslim boys, Pfeiffer said - Muslim girls were only as likely to be violent as non-Muslim girls.

This led him to conclude that there was not a direct link between Islamic belief and violence - but an indirect one. He pointed to Christian teachings which justified domestic violence and male dominance of society for a long time.
Pfeiffer runs completely off-course here. He doesn't appear to understand that Islam not only contains teachings that justify violence, but also teachings that relegate women to second-class status. And his moral equivalence, given the absence of Christian terror groups around the world, just politically correct attitudinizing.
His researchers asked the teenagers a range of questions about their ideas of manliness, for example whether they thought a man was justified in hitting his wife if she had been unfaithful. They also asked about what media and computer game violence they were exposed to, as well as whether their friends were involved in crime or violence.

The results showed that Muslim boys from immigrant families were more than twice as likely to agree with macho statements than boys from Christian immigrant families. The rate was highest among those considered as very religious, Pfeiffer said. They were also more likely to be using violent computer games and have criminal friends.

Added to that, the more religious Muslim boys felt the least integrated into German society, with only 14.5 percent of the very religious Turkish boys (the largest group of Muslims in the study) saying they felt German, although 88.5 percent had been born there.

Pfeiffer said he thought the responsibility for the macho culture lay with Imams in Germany, who he said usually come from abroad and often cannot speak German or have much understanding of the culture. "We have to prevent attempts at integration from being destroyed by Imams who preach Turkish provincial stories and a reactionary male image," said Pfeiffer. He concluded that Germans should reconsider how they treat Muslims, noting that there had been a damaging loss of trust since the September 11 attacks in 2001....

Arrow Scores Show in Support of Boston Terror Suspects

Tarek Mehanna’s arms were handcuffed behind his back, but he smiled as he looked at almost 100 friends and family members who crowded the federal courtroom.

In all, about 200 people attended the hearing to support him. Those who could not fit into the South Boston courtroom were in another one with a closed-circuit television. The rest were outside the courthouse holding signs and chanting, “Free Tarek now.’’

“I have never seen anything like this,’’ Mehanna’s Boston-based lawyer, J.W. Carney Jr., told the group as they gathered in the John Joseph Moakley Courthouse hallway after the hearing. “That was the best smile in months that I’ve seen on my client.’’

Mehanna, who had been indicted June 17 on charges he conspired to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization, pleaded not guilty to all counts.

Mehanna, 27, of Sudbury had been in the Plymouth County Correctional Facility for 272 days following a 10-count indictment that alleges that he and Ahmad Abousamra, 28, began providing services to Al Qaeda at some time around 2001.

Abousamra, who authorities describe as a fugitive staying in Syria, had lived in Mansfield.

A trial for Mehanna was set for Oct. 3, 2011, with prosecutors and defendants agreeing that time was needed because of the nature of the case. The next status hearing was scheduled for this October.

“This type of case is completely new,’’ Carney said during the hearing.

Family members were reminded that no outbursts would be tolerated during the 3 p.m. hearing. At least six federal marshals stood outside the building with what looked like machine guns, but a spokesman denied they were deployed solely because of the Mehanna hearing.

In the hallway, Carney told Mehanna’s supporters that the prosecution has information it does not want to share, but he did not elaborate.

Mehanna will remain in isolation “to make sure he is protected,’’ Carney said. “The last thing anyone wants to see is Tarek attacked by another inmate.’’

If convicted on material support charges, Mehanna could face up to 15 years in prison.

One of Mehanna’s supporters, Evan Greer, 25, of Jamaica Plain, joined about 25 protesters outside the courthouse. He said he did not know Mehanna but joined the group to stand up against what he believes is injustice.

“For me, this is as just another example of the ways the FBI represses Muslim communities and communities of color,’’ Greer said as he prepared to leave with his sign.

Mehanna and Abousamra were investigated by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Mehanna’s brother, Tamer, said the hearing “went very well,’’ but declined to comment on the crowd or seeing his brother in court.

Prosecutors have alleged that Mehanna and Abousamra traveled to Yemen and were rejected when they tried to join a terrorist training camp. The two plotted to shoot shoppers, but could not get automatic weapons and abandoned the plan, prosecutors have said. They have also been accused of, but not charged with, plotting to kill two unidentified government officials.

Arrow Dearborn Mayor Lies about Festival Arrests

David Wood's Arrest at Dearborn Arab Festival

According to Dearborn Mayor John C. O'Reilly:
At the time he was arrested on Friday, June 18, Mr. Wood had gathered a large crowd around him, blocking a key access point between the tents. The crowd was forced to grow bigger solely because people could not pass. Those who created this public danger did so with the knowledge that they were violating the laws because they wanted to be arrested while their cohorts were actively recording the event for posting on the web. They knew that they could inflame the passions of viewers who would be taken in by their misrepresentation of what was really going on. Source.
Fortunately, video footage trumps the Mayor's lies. Pay close attention to the Muslim who says, "Man I love Dearborn Police." (I'll note here, however, that this could be a sarcastic comment. I can't be sure, but given the number of Muslims who cheered at our arrests, I suspect the intention was genuine.)

And here's what happened according to the City of Dearborn's website:
Public safety became an issue for both members of Acts 17 Apologetics and the gathering crowd. The four (4) members of Acts 17 Apologetics chose to escalate their behavior, which appeared well-orchestrated and deliberate, and chose not to follow the directions being given to them by the responding officers. The behavior of these individuals drew and incited a large crowd to a point where they were in violation of City of Dearborn Misdemeanor Ordinances of Breach of Peace and Failure to Obey the Lawful Order of a Police Officer. They were arrested. Upon their arrest, the crowd dispersed without further action being needed. Source.

Arrow Virginia Man Arrested on Charges He Aided Terror Group

The Virginia man who warned on a radical Islamic website that the creators of the cartoon series "South Park" will be targeted for death for their caricature of the Prophet Muhammad has been arrested on charges that he provided material support to the terrorist organization Al-Shabab, federal officials said Wednesday.

Zachary Adam Chesser, aka Abu Talhah Al-Amrikee, admitted to federal agents that he attempted on two occasions to travel to Somalia to join Al-Shabab as a foreign fighter. After he was stopped from boarding a flight from New York to Uganda on July 10, Chesser, 20, allegedly admitted that he intended to travel from Uganda to Somalia.

Chesser, of Fairfax County, Va., attempted to board the plane with his infant son; court records allege he intended to use his son as part of his cover to avoid detection.

"This case exposes the disturbing reality that extreme radicalization can happen anywhere, including Northern Virginia," said U.S. Attorney Neil MacBride. "This young man is accused of seeking to join Al-Shabab, a brutal terrorist organization with ties to Al Qaeda. These allegations underscore the need for continued vigilance against homegrown terror threats."

According to a court affidavit, Chesser allegedly discussed in a series of interviews with law enforcement officials how he has maintained several online profiles dedicated to extremist jihad propaganda. These profiles were allegedly used by Chesser to post pro-jihad messages and videos online.

"We can't fight terrorists alone," said FBI Assistant Director in Charge Shawn Henry. "Religious leaders of all faiths, family members and particularly the younger members of our communities need to speak up and speak out against individuals who participate in actions like those alleged here."

In April, FoxNews.com spoke to Chesser after he posted a warning on the website RevolutionMuslim.com following the 200th episode of "South Park," which included a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad disguised in a bear suit. The young man, who just two years ago was studying foreign languages at George Mason University, wrote on the site that Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the cartoon's creators, "will probably end up" like Theo van Gogh, a Dutch filmmaker who was murdered in 2004 after making a film critical of Islamic society.

"It's not a threat, but it really is a likely outcome," Chesser told FoxNews.com. "They're going to be basically on a list in the back of the minds of a large number of Muslims. It's just the reality."

Chesser's father, David, said he was unaware of the arrest and declined further comment when reached on Wednesday. Chesser's mother, Barbara, reached at her office in Washington, also declined comment.

Chesser is scheduled to make his initial court appearance in U.S. District Court in Virginia on Thursday.

The U.S. Department of State designated Al-Shabab as a foreign terrorist organization on Feb. 29, 2008, describing it as a violent and brutal extremist group based in Somalia with affiliations to Al Qaeda.
