Exclamation A Guide to the Palestinian Lexicon

A Guide to the Palestinian Lexicon
by Khaled Abu Toameh
August 1, 2016

  • Many Palestinians refer to cities inside Israel proper as "occupied." Jaffa, Haifa, Acre, Tiberias, Ramle and Lod, for example, are often described in the Palestinian media as "Palestinian Cities" or "Occupied Cities." Jews living in these cities, as well as other parts of Israel, are sometimes referred to as "Settlers."
  • Many Palestinians have still not come to terms with Israel's right to exist. For them, this not only about the "occupation" of the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem. The real "occupation", for them, began with the creation of Israel in 1948.
  • Non-Arabic speakers may find this assertion baseless, because what they hear and read from Palestinian representatives in English does not reflect the messages being relayed to Palestinians in Arabic.
  • It is no secret that Palestinian leaders have failed to prepare their people for peace with Israel, and deny its right to exist.

Hamas Charter calls for the elimination of Israel completely, not for a change in borders

The Covenant of Hamas

The Charter Of Allah:

The Platform Of The Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS)

In the name of Allah the Merciful and the Compassionate Palestine, Muharram 1, 1409 A.H./August 18, 1988

In the name of Allah the Merciful and the Compassionate

"You are the best nation that has been brought out for mankind. You command good and forbid evil and believe in Allah. If only the people of the Book [i.e., Jews and Christians] had believed, it would have been well for them. Some of them believe, but most of them are iniquitous. They will never be able to do you serious harm, they will only be an annoyance. If they fight you, they will turn their backs and flee, and will not be succored. Humiliation is their lot wherever they may be, except where they are saved from it by a bond with Allah or by a bond with men. They incurred upon themselves Allah's wrath, and wretchedness is their lot, because they denied Allah's signs and wrongfully killed the prophets, and because they disobeyed and transgressed." (Koran, 3:110-112).

"Israel will exist, and will continue to exist, until Islam abolishes it, as it abolished that which was before it." [From the words of] The martyr, Imam Hasan al-Banna', Allah's mercy be upon him.

"The Islamic world is burning, and each and every one of us must pour water, even if it be a little, to extinguish whatever he can extinguish, without waiting for others."

Exclamation Hamas Official Criticizes Palestinian Elements:

August 1, 2016
Special Dispatch No.6551

Hamas Official Criticizes Palestinian Elements: Stop Boasting About Future Wars; In The Struggle With Israel, Resistance Operations Are Better Than All-Out War

On the occasion of the second anniversary of the 2014 Gaza War, Hamas's deputy foreign minister and former spokesman Ghazi Hamad wrote an article in the online Gazan daily Alwatanvoice.com, in which he criticized Palestinian elements that constantly talk of the next war with Israel and boast in advance about their victory in it. He said that such talk reflected hastiness and shallowness, for war was a serious and frightening business, not a matter for muscle-flexing and for adventurism.

Ghazi Hamad (Image: Amad.ps)

Hamad called on the Palestinians to base their future struggle against Israel on quick surprise attacks rather than all-out war. He noted that in the three Gaza wars (of 2008/2009, 2012 and 2014) the Palestinians sustained heavy losses in lives and property, whereas Israel barely sustained any damage at all. On the other hand, "small stabs to all parts of [Israel's] body hurt it, exhaust it and place it under intense public pressure, while the price that the Palestinian side must pay [for such operations] is less harmful and painful."

It should be mentioned that Hamad's article was also published in Hamas's daily Filastin but was removed from its website a short while later. The article was also removed from Alwatanvoice.com itself only a few days after its posting – which suggests that it sparked intense criticism in Gaza. It should also be noted that this is not the first time Hamad has criticized Hamas. In 2009 he wrote an article in which he urged the Palestinians not to delude themselves that they had won the 2008 Gaza war, and in 2006 he urged them to acknowledge mistakes they had made.[1]

'Issam Shawar, a columnist for Hamas dailies, wrote an article in which he rejected Hamad's claim that the wars with Israel have not been effective. He noted that the war with Israel caused it to withdraw from the Gaza Strip and that Hamas has managed to create deterrence vis-à-vis Israel. He added that resistance operations of the kind Hamad advocated also tended to lead to war with Israel.

The following are excerpts from the two articles:

Ghazi Hamad: Some Of Us Boast Of Victory In A Future War With Israel – This Is A Big, Shallow, Rash Mistake

"There is a lot of talk about war, as though this is the option or path to which events will necessarily lead us, [even if] we do not want it. Then, people get carried away talking about expectations and scenarios... and about the chances for victory or defeat. Some [of us] are quick to decide in advance that they will win, no matter the price. This attests to great shallowness and rashness. First they say that a coming war is inevitable, then they backtrack from their exaggerations [and say], 'we are not working to bring war closer'... Some have attempted to hasten the war['s arrival] and threatened anyone who approaches the Gaza border. [But] wars do not require words, speeches, or predictions – rather, they require observation, understanding, and judgement...

"Those who speak often of war are making serious mistakes that should be avoided. [War] is not a matter for muscle-flexing, boastfulness, or chauvinistic speeches. War is serious and frightening. It means bloodshed, killing, the destruction of everything relating to life, terrifying sights, and land that devours a man's flesh. War can be ignited, but [we] do not always know how to extinguish it. It should be approached very seriously, with rationality, thought, and reason. It is not a field trip – neither here [in Gaza] nor there [in Israel]...

"We must answer several questions. In the Palestinian arena, there is no long-term strategic thought, and its temporary substitute is always the tactic of the routine preparation and readiness [for war] without taking it upon ourselves to seek answers to urgent strategic questions: Is war the only preferable option? Is Gaza, with its geographic and demographic makeup, fit to wage open war, and should Gaza always bear alone the brunt and consequences of war? Are there no more effective, less harmful options? Does the national public have an encompassing and mature view of the concept and methods of resistance, so that it achieves real ends, in order for us not to become caught up in a dispute over assessing the achievements and damages of the war?

"Before anyone [hastens] to formulate exaggerated slogans about me, let me reiterate that resistance is a legitimate and undisputed right. But the question remains: What is the preferred model for resistance against a barbaric, aggressive country that is armed to the teeth and that is defended by the international laws of the jungle? We must respond to this, so that we can achieve as many positive cumulative outcomes as possible, and not settle for modest results that are not worth the sacrifices made for them..."

Israel's Arsenal Is Among The Strongest In The Region, We Must Be Creative In Our Struggle Against It

"Anyone who wants to wage a war must study it from start to finish and examine its outcome – as this relates to our people's reality.... future, life, and stability. Wars are measured not just by number of victims or acts of heroism, but by their outcome. Anyone who ignores outcomes and thinks they are of no value, or adapts them to his own desires, stands against life's rules and laws. Outcomes, especially political ones, need to be examined according to professional and non-emotional standards. There is no room for gambling, adventures, or mistakes in such crucial decisions...

"Israel's arsenal is effectively among the strongest in the Middle East. It has substantial intelligence and security capabilities, and an unrestrained capacity for mass destruction and killing and for carrying out massacres with no one to deter it. It is guaranteed the silence of the countries in the region, and the international community, to the point of conspiracy. The worst part is that it covers the expenses of the war by requiring the other side to buy all materials necessary for rebuilding [after it]. This does not mean we should be helpless or surrender, but rather that we must think creatively about how to deal with Israel and break its arrogance. On the other hand, the resistance in Gaza has modest options in a small and exposed tract of land, with no backing or help in the region – though, first and foremost, it has steely willpower and determination to fight...

"Despite the resistance's steadfastness and fighting spirit, and despite the extraordinary achievements and blows it has dealt against the enemy in the [last] three wars, Israel has heavily damaged the Gaza Strip with regard to life and property, and has brought [Gaza's] economy back to square one: Unemployment increased, and the rebuilding of Gaza is very expensive; some elements might exploit [this] for political blackmail against Gaza."

The Option Of Resistance Is Preferable To Open War With Israel

"The Palestinians are in a situation of resistance, and they must not exceed that. Throughout history, and according to experience, rules and principles dictate how the resistance movement operates, and it does so based on sporadic attacks and retreat, striking at the underbelly, and avoiding direct conflict as much as possible – meaning that we must conduct 'guerrilla warfare.'

"We are not a regular army, and we do not have to design and establish the resistance on such a basis, as doing so would contradict reality as well as the philosophy and methods of the resistance. Unfortunately, there are those who exaggerate greatly, deluding themselves that the 'resistance groups' should become a 'regular army' ready for any war or conflict...

"This is an exaggeration that we cannot accept; it reflects rashness, and ignorance of a realistic view of the situation. Open conflict with the occupation creates a complex reality for the resistance and for [Gaza] Strip residents that is not easy to control in light of the insane attacks and widespread waves of destruction, and in light of the fact that [during war] the resistance runs out of ammunition and capabilities. The ability to achieve swift and real goals in [such] a war is doubtful.

"It is true that the resistance's heroism and steadfastness have impacted the [Israeli] army's view as well as its strategic and tactical plans, and have created a situation of fear and instability in Israeli society. More importantly, it has been proven that [Israel's use of] the military option, powerful as it may be, will not bring the outcome that Israel desires. However, we must understand that so far, three wars have not compelled it to change its policy on issues like the political solution, the siege, and the construction of settlements. [Israel] has also not, as some have argued, changed its hostile security and military doctrine.

"Israel has waged many wars with Arab countries, Hizbullah, and the Palestinian resistance. Politicians, generals, analysts, and experts in the [Israeli] political and military elite have begun to agree that [for Israel,] the option of open war is preferable for striking strong and devastating decisive blows. On the other hand, Israel is deterred by swift attacks and operations against its soldiers, settlers, and citizens, as happened in the 1990s. Small stabs to all parts of [Israel's] body hurt it, exhaust it and place it under intense public pressure, while the price that the Palestinian side must pay [for such operations] is less harmful and painful. The difference between the two options indicates that the option of resistance in the classic sense is better than that of open war."

Boasting Of Factions Does Operational Damage To The Resistance

"Some factions exaggerate their ability and strength. Moreover, they show their cards and advantages. Some repeatedly republish what is published by the Israeli papers [about Hamas's capabilities], as a sort of boasting, and see this as part of 'raising morale.' [But] in my humble opinion, this achieves the opposite result: It enables the enemy to open its eyes, find preventative defensive countermeasures, and shape its thinking regarding the resistance factions and their modus operandi. For instance, don't you see that the recurring talk of the tunnels and the tunnel men has encouraged Israel, with its political, security, military, and even social elements, to seek practical solutions and devote billions of shekels to thwarting this danger?? There are many ways of raising morale, spurring and encouraging people, and recruiting all our energies, without getting involved in showing our hand and attracting the enemy's attention. We have a chance to think logically, and to achieve better results that will harm our enemies even more.

"Let us say clearly that the option of war, whether we want it or it is forced on us, is not the best option. We should avoid it as much as possible – not to avoid conflict, but rather to achieve better results in fighting the enemy. There are plenty of alternatives, and there are many options and opportunities."[2]

Gaza Journalist Responds To Hamad: The Resistance Managed To Created Deterrence

In response to Hamad's article, 'Issam Shawar, a columnist for Hamas websites, wrote on the online daily Alwatanvoice.com: "One of the mistakes made by Dr. Ghazi Hamad is that he believes that the history of jihad wars against the occupation began with the first Gaza war [in December 2008-January 2009]. So, Dr. Ghazi inadvertently forgot the many achievements of the resistance, including liberating Gaza from the Israeli occupation, including its abandonment of all its settlements [referring to the disengagement], which in itself breaks Israel's military and security doctrine... Dr. Ghazi also believes that the resistance has the option of avoiding war, and he urges it to seek another model of resistance for arriving at achievements... Here I will make three comments:

"First, every time Israel attacks in Gaza, it excuses its attacks by blaming resistance operations, which mostly are retaliation for the aggression of the occupation. I am surprised that Dr. Ghazi, who is well versed in Israeli military and security doctrine, believes that Israel will absorb painful individual attacks without launching a war against the resistance, since it blamed the war in Gaza on the resistance, namely on [Hamas's] abduction of the Israeli soldier [Gilad] Shalit, even though it was one of the individual operations against Israeli soldiers.

"Second, Dr. Ghazi prefers that there be national consent for the resistance. But we know that there are two opinions among the Palestinians: One espouses all forms of resistance, and the other opposes all forms of military resistance. So the Palestinians cannot agree on the resistance, only on a ceasefire with Israel.

"Third, war is not an option for any Palestinian element, and never was. [It is the] the occupation state that forces it on us, because it destroys and kills, and bears the sole responsibility for its crimes, which will never end or let up without the deterrence that the resistance, particularly the 'Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades, has attained, whether Dr. Ghazi can acknowledge this or not...

"As for Hamad's claim that it was the repeated talk about the tunnels that motivated Israel to find a solution to them, I do not think so. Israel operated against the tunnels solely on the basis of the nightmares it has suffered since the Nahal Oz operation [July 2014 tunnel attack that killed five IDF soldiers], the kidnapping of Hadar Goldin [using tunnels in Gaza], and other heroic operations carried out by the Martyr 'Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades using tunnels."[3]

Angry Fatah jihadists brag they killed 11,000 Israelis

Fatah jihadists brag they killed 11,000 Israelis
BY CHRISTINE WILLIAMS

https://www.jihadwatch.org/2016/08/f...11000-israelis

Can one dare to imagine a Westerner boasting that he killed 11,000 Muslims or 11,000 of any visible minority group? There would be an outcry published in every single media outlet, and there should be; but in the case of Fatah bragging about murdering 11,000 Israelis, it is not a “legitimate” news item deemed worthy of widespread mass media publication. We already see the media brouhaha when Palestinians get killed in defensive strikes by Israelis.

This consistency in covering up Muslim crimes for fear of reprisals or of being called “Islamophobic” or racist, is outrageously damaging to Israel and to Western homeland security.

Fatah, meanwhile, is controlled by Mahmoud Abbas, who is reputedly a “moderate,” and who has vowed that not one Jew would live in a Palestinian state.

Fatah brags it killed 11,000 Israelis”, by Itamar Marcus, Palestinian Media Watch (http://palwatch.org/main.aspx?fi=157&doc_id=18557), August 3, 2016:

Fatah yesterday posted a list of Fatah’s achievements on behalf of Palestinians. Significantly, Fatah did not cite even one peace-seeking or peace-promoting achievement, but only listed Fatah acts of violence and terror. Fatah even boasted that its attacks have killed 11,000 Israelis. While Fatah and the PLO have been killing Israelis since 1965, this number is a gross exaggeration.

One of the acts it bragged about was being the “first Palestinian faction to reach the [Israeli] nuclear reactor.” This is a reference to Fatah’s bus hijacking and murder of three Israeli civilians on their way to work at the Dimona nuclear plant in 1988.

Throughout the recent terror wave, Palestinian Media Watch has documented that the PA and Fatah have promoted violence and terror against Israelis, both in Israel and in the West Bank.

The following is yesterday’s Fatah post celebrating and bragging about Fatah’s murder of Israeli civilians:

“To those who argue [with Fatah], to the boors, and to those who do not know history:

Fatah has killed 11,000 Israelis

Fatah has sacrificed 170,000 Martyrs (Shahids)…

Fatah was the first to carry out operations (i.e., terror attacks) during the first Intifada (i.e., Palestinian violence and terror against Israel, 1988-1993), and it was the first Palestinian faction to reach the nuclear reactor in Dimona (i.e., 1988 murder of 3 working mothers on way to the Dimona plant)
Fatah was the first to fight in the second Intifada (i.e., PA terror campaign 2000-2005) (Baha Al-Sa’id, an officer in the Preventive Security Forces, infiltrated an Israeli settlement on the border with Gaza) [parenthesis in source]…

Fatah was the first to defeat the Zionist enemy (Battle of El-Karameh) [parenthesis in source]…

Fatah led the Palestinian attack on Israel in the UN.”
[Official Fatah Facebook, Aug. 2, 2016]

PMW reported that Fatah had posted a similar text on its official Facebook page in 2014…

Exclamation Arabs Must Turn a New Page with Israel

Arabs Must Turn a New Page with Israel
by Fred Maroun
August 4, 2016

  • We must look at Israel not as foreign presence, which it is not, but as a unique and remarkable component of the Middle East that enriches the region.
  • The creation of such a Palestinian state under today's conditions is likely to result in a Hamas-dominated state that is violently hostile towards Israel. The Palestinian Authority must be transitioned into a peaceful and stable entity before it can be expected to run a state.
  • Binyamin Netanyahu recently suggested an approach to make the peace initiative work, but Arab League Secretary-General Nabil al-Arabi rejected it out of hand. This is not how harmonious relationships between nations are built.
  • "We must all rise above all forms of fanaticism, self-deception and obsolete theories of superiority." — Egyptian President Anwar el-Sadat, 1977.

Exclamation Palestinian Terrorists Incorporating Rat Poison in Attack Plans

Palestinian Terrorists Incorporating Rat Poison in Attack Plans
by IPT News

http://www.investigativeproject.org/...ing-rat-poison

A Palestinian terrorist planned to bomb the Jerusalem light rail (http://www.timesofisrael.com/with-bo...erusalem-tram/) last month with an explosive device containing poisonous material, Israeli police said Tuesday.

Ali Abu Hassan – a civil engineering student from a village northwest of Hebron – infiltrated Jerusalem on July 15 armed with three pipe bombs forming a large explosive. The terrorist doused nails and screws fitted on the explosive with rat poison to maximize the carnage.

Hassan researched how to make a bomb that would inflict "the most, and most effective, damage" and "even carried out test explosions with a number of bombs in order to check them before entering Israel," said the Shin Bet, Israel's internal security agency.

The investigation revealed that Hassan originally intended to attack a restaurant, but changed his target after seeing numerous civilians boarding Jerusalem's light rail. A security guard notified police after checking and discovering the explosive in Hassan's bag after boarding the train.

An Israeli court on Tuesday charged Hassan for building a weapon, attempted murder, and conspiracy.

Another major terrorist plot this year also involved the use of rat poison.

In June, Palestinian terrorists opened fire on a Tel Aviv café (http://www.investigativeproject.org/...t-israeli-cafe), killing four civilians and injuring 15 others. According to the indictment, the terrorists also planned to contaminate knives with rat poison (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...in-rat-poison/) and stab Israelis, going so far as to buy the poison, but never executed that part of the plan.

These incidents mark a significant development concerning the recent wave of Palestinian terrorism targeting Israelis. While most individual terrorist initiatives involved rudimentary means for attack – including stabbing and vehicular attacks (http://www.investigativeproject.org/...-terror-attack) – these high profile cases show that an educated Palestinian with the motivation to kill Israelis is capable of producing relatively sophisticated terrorist means that can maximize casualties. More importantly, the use of rat poison may signal the emergence of a new trend in which Palestinians seek to exploit unconventional attack methods, including chemical and biological agents, to inflict greater damage and spread fear throughout Israeli society.

Exclamation Hamas ops admit to building tunnels beneath homes and mosques in Gaza

Hamas ops admit to building tunnels beneath homes and mosques in Gaza

https://www.idfblog.com/blog/2016/07...-mosques-gaza/

Hamas operative, Faiz Masbah Muhammed Atar, 51, was arrested for smuggling funds to members of the terrorist organization in Judea and Samaria (https://www.idfblog.com/blog/2016/06...alem-hebron-2/) by security forces. Atar, who holds a trade permit that allows his entry into Israel, was approached by Hamas operatives to smuggle funds in his shoes through different border crossings. Atar smuggled tens of thousands of euros for Hamas.

An investigation conducted by the Shin Bet reveals that Hamas builds terror tunnel (https://www.idfblog.com/blog/2016/06...hern-israel-2/) shafts underneath civilian structures, residential areas, and mosques. Additionally, rocket launch sites have also been discovered within civilian areas. Their location openly endangers the civilian population in the Gaza Strip.

Forces also uncovered information regarding Atar’s family members and their involvement with Hamas. They have been active in digging terror tunnels and involved in activities against the IDF. Additionally, Atar’s sons hold Hamas meetings in his home.

In another joint IDF, ISA and Israel Police operation, a second Hamas smuggler, Itallah Ali Abdel Karim Sirhan, was arrested. Sirhan, 37, of Jabaliya, also holds an Israeli trade permit, and was apprehended while attempting to smuggle 10,000 euros for Hamas operatives in Judea and Samaria.

Sirhan has been working for the past several months as a truck driver. The company that employs him clears out sites where Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) have been digging terror tunnels. Sirhan revealed crucial information regarding the tunnels, including their exact locations and different states of construction.

The State of Israel enables thousands of residents of the Gaza Strip to enter Israel every month for humanitarian, medical, and other purposes. Terror groups in Gaza exploit these permits and those holding them to promote their illegal goals, such as the transferring of funds for terror.

By using entry permits to promote its lethal causes, Hamas cynically exploits Israel’s willingness to respond to the humanitarian needs of the Gazan population. Hamas continues to breach Israel’s sovereignty and put the residents of the Gaza Strip at risk. The IDF will continue to prevent Hamas from succeeding in their ends, and will bring those involved in these schemes to justice.

Exclamation Terrorist Who Drove Murderer Of Mickey Mark Will Reach Rank of General in 20 Years

Terrorist Who Drove Murderer Of Mickey Mark Will Reach Rank of General in 20 Years
By Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik

http://www.palwatch.org/main.aspx?fi=157&doc_id=18561

PA law rewards terrorists from PA Security Forces
with promotions in rank based on years in prison:

5 years in prison - Lieutenant
10 years in prison - Lieutenant Colonel
20 years in prison - Brigadier General

This reward is in addition to:
high salary while in prison
large grant when released from prison
guaranteed high salary after release

On July 1, 2016, Palestinian terrorists murdered a father of ten and critically wounded his wife in a drive by shooting south of Hebron. Last week, the shooter, Muhammad Al-Faqih, was killed when he fired at Israeli soldiers who came to arrest him, and the driver of the car during the murder, a member of the PA Security Forces, Muhammad Amira, was arrested.

In addition to the many financial rewards the PA grants all Palestinian terrorist prisoners, Amira, because he was a member of the PA Security Forces, will also be rewarded with a rise in military rank. This is stipulated in the PA Regulation: Securing Jobs for Released Prisoners in Government, Decision No. 15 of 2013, initiated by Mahmoud Abbas.

According to this Palestinian Authority law, all terrorists from the PA Security Forces who are imprisoned for "resisting the occupation," i.e., for terror offenses, are rewarded by rising in military rank - during their time in prison.

The following chart, published by WAFA, the official PA news agency on Dec. 12, 2013, is from the PA Regulation, Decision No. 15 of 2013, Issue 103 of the Records, published Dec. 8, 2013:

Exclamation Israel's Right to Exist

The "Anti-Normalization" Campaign and Israel's Right to Exist
by Khaled Abu Toameh
August 8, 2016

  • For many Arabs and Muslims, the conflict with Israel is not about a withdrawal to the pre-1967 lines. These opponents have no intention of recognizing Israel's right to exist, even if it allows for the creation of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem.
  • A leading cleric, Dr. Ali Daghi, Secretary-General of the International Muslim Scholars, wrote: "There is a consensus among Muslims, in the past and present, that if an Islamic land is occupied, then its inhabitants must declare jihad until it is liberated from the occupiers."
  • "Anyone who calls for peace with the Zionists should be brought to trial for high treason. Normalization is treason." — Ramzi Al-Harbi, Saudi writer.
  • Let us be clear: these are not fringe voices. This is mainstream Arab and Islamic society. What bothers them is not the "normalization" with the "Zionist entity," but the fact that Israel exists. For the masses, jihad against Israel is the solution, not another peace initiative endorsed by unelected Arab dictatorships.

Arabs and Muslims are up in arms over a controversial visit to Israel by a retired Saudi general, Dr. Anwar Eshki, who is being accused of promoting "normalization with the Jews and the Zionist entity." If "normalization" with Israel is being denounced as a major crime and sin, one can only imagine what "peace" with Israelis would be considered in the Arab and Islamic countries.

General Eshki and a delegation of Saudi academics and businessmen met with Israeli Foreign Ministry Director-General Dore Gold, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), Maj.-Gen. Yoav Moderchai and several Knesset members from the opposition. The Saudi delegation also travelled to Ramallah, where its members met with Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas and other Palestinian officials.

Exclamation The Claim That Jews Are The Descendants Of Apes And Pigs Is Foolish And Primitive

August 10, 2016
Special Dispatch No.6566
http://www.memri.org/report/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/9381.htm

Article In Palestinian Online Daily:
The Claim That Jews Are The Descendants Of Apes And Pigs Is Foolish And Primitive

In his column in the Palestinian online daily Dunya Al-Watan (Alwatanvoice.com), Anwar Al-Waridi, a Palestinian poet and author living in Jordan, mocked Muslim clerics who scream about Jews being the descendants of apes and pigs,[1] while Jews control Arab land and have been defeating the Arabs for the past century. According to him, this claim about the Jews is ridiculous, and is indicative of a backwards collective Arab mentality that underestimates the enemy.

Anwar Al-Waridi (Image: Twitter.com/anwarwardat)
The following are excerpts from the article:[2]

"The problem is the Arab collective mentality. The Jews are not the descendants of apes or pigs, but human beings, sons of Adam and Eve. The cry made repeatedly by some of the crazed and primitive Muslim clerics, 'Jews, the descendants of apes and pigs," is shameful. To those who rely on the esteemed verse: 'We said to them, Be apes, despised' [Koran 2:65] or the verse: 'and made of them apes and pigs and slaves of Taghout' [Koran 5:60], [I say as follows]: though there is disagreement among commentators about the meaning of these verses, the favored opinion is that [the Jews] became apes in character, not in form – meaning that they did not physically transform into actual apes, but rather that their attributes became apelike.

"Moreover, the transformation from people to apes [only] happened to some of them [and only] during a certain period, and did not include all Jews. And even if we assume that they did turn into actual apes, and that this happened to all [Jews] – can an ape give birth to a human? How, therefore, can the Jews of today be the descendants of those who turned into apes, in the opinion of these ignorant Muslim clerics? An ape begets an ape and a human begets a human, and therefore the Jews of today are not the descendants of apes or pigs as we scream stupidly and primitively, as though this is a crushing blow to [the Jews]. Moreover, if they are the descendants of apes and pigs, and have managed to defeat us for close to a century – is there honor in being defeated by apes and pigs?

"In the past, the Arab would praise his enemy as he praised himself, describing him as brave, heroic, and strong, and then would add: Despite his might, I defeated him... Today, on the other hand, and for the past century, we curse the Jews and describe them as cowards, weaklings and fools, and as apes and pigs. This, while they mock us and laugh at us, as though saying to us: Curse us [all you want], since this nonsense does not concern us so long as we are the strong ones who rule, win, and occupy you and your lands.

"A relative [once] said to me that [he] attended a Friday prayer in the Cave of the Patriarchs in occupied Hebron, which, for those who don't know, is divided into two parts, and has strict arrangements for prayers by both sides [Muslims and Jews]. [This has been the case] since 1994, when the criminal [Baruch] Goldstein massacred 29 peaceful Muslim worshippers. The occupiers, who are not the descendants of apes and pigs, divided [the cave] between Muslims and Jews, and soldiers of the Zionist army are stationed there to prevent clashes between the sides. My relative continued: At the end of the prayer, the preacher began cursing the corrupting Jews and asked Allah to destroy the descendants of apes and pigs and strike blows against them. The [Israeli] officer standing next to me tapped his colleague on the shoulder and signaled him to listen, and both of them smiled ironically.
"Gentlemen, this backwards mentality is one of the reasons for our ongoing defeats..."

Exclamation Hamas: Vote for Us or Burn in Hell

Hamas: Vote for Us or Burn in Hell
by Khaled Abu Toameh
August 12, 2016

  • Abbas decided to hold local and municipal elections because his advisors convinced him that Hamas would boycott the vote, according to senior Fatah official Husam Khader.
  • The first sign of Hamas's frightening platform emerged when one of its top muftis, Yunis Al-Astal, issued a fatwa banning Palestinians from voting for any other party other than Hamas. "Any person, male or female, who votes for a party other than Hamas will be considered an infidel and apostate and his or her repentance will not be accepted even if they fasted or prayed or performed the hajj [pilgrimage] to Mecca," the mufti ruled.
  • This Hamas tactic has worked in the past. In the previous parliamentary election, Hamas used the same propaganda to brainwash and scare Palestinian voters.
  • By calling the election and allowing Hamas to participate, Abbas is digging his own grave, and presiding over the burial of any so-called peace process with Israel.

It is election season in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Palestinians are preparing to cast their votes in the local and municipal elections, scheduled to take place on October 8. The upcoming elections will be different from the last one, held in 2012 only in the West Bank, when Hamas boycotted the vote, allowing the rival Fatah faction to claim victory.

This time Hamas has decided to join the political fray -- a move that caught Fatah and its leaders, including Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas, by surprise.

Hamas's decision to participate in the local and municipal elections has further aggravated tensions with Abbas's Fatah faction, which continues to suffer from deep internal divisions and rivalries.

Lightbulb Palestinians: The "Country" Where Crime Is an Official Job

Palestinians: The "Country" Where Crime Is an Official Job
by Yves Mamou

• [W]hoever was imprisoned for five years or more is entitled to a job in a PA [Palestinian Authority] institution. Thus, the PA gives priority in job placement to people who were involved in terrorist activity." – Yigal Carmon, president of the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), in testimony to the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs, July 6, 2016.

In 2016, not less than $300 million (between 7% and 10% of the budget) was allocated to prisoners, their families, and to "martyrs' families."

In June, an independent report commissioned by the Britain's Department for International Development concluded that by enabling the PA to pay salaries to terrorists, British aid to the PA had made anti-Israel terror "more likely." DFID dismissed the report.

Palestinian society is totally built and organized on the basis of "resistance". It is a society where jobs, fame and money go to people who are in, or who have spent years in, Israeli jails. There, legitimacy goes to people who are considered "martyrs."

Exclamation Gazan Terror Organizations Confirm: Iran Funds Our Activity

August 11, 2016
Special Dispatch No.6568
http://www.memri.org/report/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/9384.htm

Officials In Lebanese, Gazan Terror Organizations Confirm:
Iran Funds Our Activity

Arab media have recently published statements by officials in the Lebanese Hizbullah and the Gazan Hamas and Islamic Jihad organizations, and by their supporters, confirming what has long been known – namely that these Lebanese and Gazan terror organizations receive substantial financial and military assistance from Iran. These statements join many reports, especially in the anti-Iranian media, regarding Iran's funding of various terrorist organizations across the Arab world. According to these reports, the assistance comes mainly from the office of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and from the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).

The following are some examples of these statements and reports from the last two months:

Hizbullah Secretary-General Nasrallah: Hizbullah's Entire Budget Is Provided By Iran

In a speech he delivered on June 24, 2016, marking 40 days after the killing of Mustafa Badr Al-Din, who was considered to be Hizbullah's chief operations officer, and following the imposition of U.S. sanctions on Hizbullah that threaten its financial infrastructure and income, Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah clarified: "Hizbullah's budget – its salaries and expenditures, [the money that pays for] its food and drink, weapons and missiles – [all come from] Iran. Is that clear?... As long as Iran has money we have money. Do you require greater transparency than that[?] The funds earmarked for us do not reach us through the banks. We receive them the same way we receive our missiles, with which we threaten Israel."[1]

Hamas Official Abu Marzouq: Iran's Assistance To Hamas Is "Not Comparable" To Any Other Assistance

The deputy head of Hamas's political bureau, Moussa Abu Marzouq, tweeted on June 15, 2016: "The aid extended by Iran to the Palestinian resistance, in provisions, training and funds, is not comparable [to any other aid], and most other countries cannot match it."[2]

Abu Marzouq's tweet

Former Lebanese Minister Wiam Wahhab: Iran Has Funded Resistance In Palestine

On June 25, 2016, in response to a remark by former Lebanese prime minister Sa'd Al-Hariri that Iran funds fitna (internecine strife) in the Arab world,[3] former Lebanese minister Wiam Wahhab, a known supporter of Hizbullah and the resistance axis, tweeted: "O Sheikh Sa'd [Al-Hariri], Iran has funded resistance in Palestine to restore Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa and the Church of the Sepulcher [to Palestinian hands, whereas] Saudi Arabia paid to destroy Syria, Iraq and Yemen." In another tweet he wrote: " O Sheikh Sa'd, Iran funded resistance in the Arab homeland rather than fitna, [whereas] your kingdom [Saudi Arabia, who supports Al-Hariri and his faction in Lebanon,] sponsors and funds terrorism. The funds of all the terrorist [organizations] in the world are Wahhabi [i.e., Saudi] funds."[4]

Wiam Wahhab's tweets

Saudi Daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat: Hizbullah's Weapons Come Directly From IRGC; Iran Has Renewed Regular Aid To Islamic Jihad Organization

The anti-Iranian press, such as the London-based Saudi daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, also reported on Iran's funding of terrorist organizations in Lebanon and Gaza. On June 29, 2016, Al-Sharq Al-Awsat confirmed Nasrallah's statements regarding the Iranian funding. The report stated that Hizbullah's funds came from the office of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei while its weapons are provided by the IRGC. It quoted the director of the Umam Research and Documentation center in Lebanon, Luqman Salim, a Shi'ite known for his opposition to Hizbullah, as saying that between 70% and 80% of Hizbullah's funds come from Iran. According to Salim, Iran also invests about $400 million of the IRGC's budget in the Islamic Radio and Television Union, a group of stations which includes the Iranian Al-Alam but also Hizbullah's Al-Manar and Al-Mayadin and the Hamas-affiliated Al-Quds (all of which broadcast from Lebanon) and Hamas's Al-Aqsa station, which broadcasts from Gaza.

The daily also cited a "knowledgeable source" as saying that until 2005 Iran transferred to Hizbullah between $200 million and $250 million annually, but since then the allocation has increased: After the 2006 Lebanon War it rose to $850 million, and since Hizbullah entered the Syria war its budget has become unlimited, because it has become part of Tehran's war effort there.[5]

On May 25, 2016, the daily reported, citing sources close to the Islamic Jihad organization in Gaza, that Iran had renewed its regular financial aid to the organization after the two sides agreed to renew their mutual relations.[6] According to these sources, an Islamic Jihad delegation headed by the organization's secretary-general Ramadan Shalah visited Iran in April 2016, and during this visit Tehran renewed its sponsorship of the organization after the latter accepted its terms. In meetings held by the delegation during this visit, including with IRGC commander Mohammad Ali Jafari and Qods Force commander Qassem Soleimani, Iran clarified its vision of Islamic Jihad's course in the coming years. The sources claimed further that Soleimani decided, in coordination with the organization's military and political bureaus, to grant $70 million a year out of the IRGC budget to Islamic Jihad's military wing, Saraya Al-Quds, and to reorganize this body and appoint Khaled Mansour, who is close to Tehran, as its commander.[7]

Default Knife Attacks On Israelis

Knife Attacks On Israelis
By Paparock

I am not politically correct but just an old Vietnam Era vet that has perhaps lost his patients with progressives, useful idiots, radical Islamists and anyone for that matter that thinks that they have to "RIGHT" kill Jews, Christians or anyone in the name of their satanically inspired (my educated opinion) religion. If you bring a knife to a gun fight you have chosen your fate so stop crying like babies about the outcome!

Hammas, Hezbollah, ISIS, and all Muslim Terrorists are wolves; so hunt the wolves.

Angry The ‘altruistic evil’ of social justice for the palestinians

THE ‘ALTRUISTIC EVIL’ OF SOCIAL JUSTICE FOR THE PALESTINIANS
When activists shield their bigotry with moral fraud.
By Richard L. Cravatts

http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2638...ard-l-cravatts

As yet another indication that the university campus has become “an island of repression in a sea of freedom,” last March a pro-Israel group, Hasbara Fellowships Canada, was barred from participating in a “Social Justice Week” event organized by the Student Association of Durham College and University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). The stated reason for the exclusion? The student association (which, not coincidentally, had just approved a pro-BDS resolution against Israel) informed the Hasbara group that since the “organization seems closely tied to the state of Israel . . . it would be against the motion to provide any type of resources to your organization.”

While the term “social justice” has a seemingly benign and positive connation—and certainly to those who so vigorous fight for it—the reality is that, as columnist Jonah Goldberg observed in his book, The Tyranny of Clichés: How Liberals Cheat in the War of Ideas, social justice is actually “an empty vessel to be filled with any and all leftist ideals, and then promptly wielded as a political bludgeon against any and all dissenters . . . .”

So while social justice warriors on campus are quick to welcome a collection of perceived victim groups into their tent—Muslims, African-Americans, gays, Hispanics, women—they have been decidedly more hostile when dealing with the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, the result being that pro-Israel groups (such as the Hasbara Fellowships in Ontario) are regularly excluded as being part of the oppressor class responsible for such evils as imperialism, colonialism, racism, and sexism.

What are the defining characteristics of those well-meaning, but often misguided individuals who promiscuously proclaim their commitment to social justice? A number of tactics and behaviors are common to their efforts:

Social justice warriors are commonly infatuated with their own virtue, which manifests itself in very public “virtue signaling,” a way that self-described activists indicate that they have taken the high moral ground, that they stand for racial equality and the aspirations of the oppressed, and that they single-mindedly fight for the rights of, and make excuses for, the oppressed state in which their victims find themselves.

The rectitude of students and faculty enthralled by social justice and pushing for condemnations of Israel manifests itself as what has termed “moral narcissism,” the tendency of members of the well-meaning, (although incompletely) educated elite to align with causes and ideological positions which are based, not on the actual viability or worthiness of a cause, but on how the moral narcissist feels about him- or herself by committing to a particular campaign or movement. Like other members of the academic left, who believe their worldview is correct because it seeks to create a world in which social equanimity will be realized by the downtrodden, members of the SJP, Black Lives Matter, LGBT, Occupy, and other victims’ rights grievance groups and movements are content to support such intellectually dishonest campaigns as the boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement because it enables them to denounce Israelis as “white,” imperialistic, colonial, racist, militaristic oppressors of wholly innocent “brown” Palestinians dispossessed and victimized by the Jewish state’s very existence

In debating the Israeli/ Palestinian conflict, social justice activists, of course, demonstrate their hypocrisy by endlessly dwelling on the many evils of Israel without bothering to examine or measure the Palestinians’ own central role in contributing to the many pathologies endemic to their civil society and institutions. Like many Western elites do when choosing sides, social justice warriors infantilize the Palestinian victim and assume he has no agency to ameliorate his own conditions. In reality, pro-Palestinian activists seem to care very little about the actual self-determination and state building of the hapless Palestinians. As is frequently the case when speaking about the Israeli/Arab conflict, the discussion often glosses over the real problems of Palestinian culture, politics, and society (including its cult of death, terrorism, and martyrdom), and targets all criticism on the perceived defects of Israel, Zionism, and Jewish power. This is a clear example of another underlying factor in the social justice effort, the soft bigotry of low Palestinian expectations.

Those purportedly seeking social justice for the Palestinians regularly exhibit a willful blindness to the quest for social justice for actual Middle East victims of egregious oppression, while obsessing, to the exclusion of all other examples, over the perceived perfidy of Israel. For example, this year the National Association of Women’s Studies (NWSA) voted to approve an academic boycott against Israeli scholars. It had evidently escaped the notice of the NWSA experts on gender and sexuality issues that if one wanted to punish any Middle Eastern country for its subjugation and abuse of women, Israel would probably not be the first nation to come under reasonable or justifiable scrutiny for a group dedicated “to principles of human rights, justice and freedom for all, including academic freedom.” Totalitarian and despotic regimes throughout the region have created an oppressive group of social pathologies that negatively affect women, including genital mutilation, stoning of adulteresses, “honor” killings by fathers and brothers who have been shamed, cultures of gender apartheid in which women are seen as property with no emotional or physical autonomy, ubiquitous sexual assault, and a general subjugation of women, complete with regulations governing behavior, movement, speech, and even requirements that women be covered by burqa or hijab.

Many academics in the humanities and social sciences, including activists as disparate as Black Lives Matter, Students for Justice in Palestine, and the National Association of Women’s Studies, increasingly find a linkage as they seek to affirm the rights of the victimized and name the villains responsible for this oppression. The more that seemingly unrelated instances of oppression can be conflated, it is thought, the greater the ability to confront these oppressors and dilute the negative effect they have on their specific victims and on society at large. This trend has been called “intersectionality,” and it has meant that someone who is a gender studies professor, or queer theorist, or American studies expert can, with no actual knowledge or expertise about the Middle East, readily pontificate on the many social pathologies of which he or she accuses Israel, based on its perceived role as a racist, imperialist, colonial oppressor of an innocent indigenous population of Arab victims. For social justice warriors, to know one victim group is to know any victim group—with Israel being a tempting and habitual target of their opprobrium.

Social justice warriors are intent on using “weaponized intolerance,” the willingness to abridge speech and human rights of opposing groups in the campaign to seek social justice for the victim. Moreover, so sure are they of their moral uprightness in denouncing white-privilege and conservative thought, that the social justice warriors will not even deign to collaborate, negotiate, or even tolerate the views of those groups and individuals they have decided are essentially unworthy of having their options heard. The New York City Students for Justice in Palestine, for example, announced proudly that, “We reject any and all collaboration, dialogue and coalition work with Zionist organizations through a strict policy of anti-normalization (anti-engagement) and encourage our comrades in other organizations to do the same.”

Proponents of social justice apologize for and enable grievance-based violence by abandoning moral precepts and applying a double standard by which they support murder, violence, “resistance,” and terror in the name of self-determination—but only that perpetrated by the favored victim. Anti-Israel campus events regularly include protesters ghoulishly chanting “long live the Intifada” and “’resistance’ is justified when people are occupied,” in other words, extolling the ongoing homicidal rampage in Israel in which psychopathic terrorists have used knives, guns, stones, and vehicles to randomly murder Jewish civilians. In fact, the use of the word “Intifada” is a grotesque and murderous reference to the Second Intifada that began in 2000, during which Arab terrorists murdered some 1000 Israelis and wounded more than 14,000 others. That pro-Palestinian student activists, those who purport to be motivated by a desire to bring “justice” to the Middle East and who, presumably, care about all human lives, could publicly call for the renewed slaughter of Jews in the name of Palestinian self-determination demonstrates quite clearly how ideologically debased the human rights movement has become.

This nearly total rejection by those seeking justice for the oppressed of any recognition of goodness on the part of Western countries (and particularly Israel), favoring without hard judgments severely flawed societies of the Third World is, according to commentator Melanie Phillips, symptomatic of activists’ belief in their own moral superiority, a feature which, at least in their own minds, gives them a more genuine, principled, and valuable worldview. “In the grip of a group-think that causes them to genuflect to victim-culture and the deconstruction of western morality and the concept of truth,” Phillips wrote, “a dismaying number of our supposedly finest minds have been transformed from people who spread enlightenment to those who cast darkness before them.”

And we should be careful that, despite their own claims to a moral uprightness, the truth is not being lost in the intellectual darkness created by these self-appointed purveyors of social justice.
