Preliminary enquiry has determined that a kerosene jerry can being dropped in support of an Army FP accidentally opened and hit the tail rotor. A very tragic loss.
As Sino-Indian defence enthusiasts would know, Tawang is the area where the PRC invaded in '62 and thus the Indo-PRC outposts on the LAC are sometimes right next to each other, also the weather at those heights is very harsh.
