Mc Arthur was a good man and was great for Japan, they nearly worshipped him. As a general he was not competent. He should never have had control of the forces he did in WW2 and Korea and because of him there were thousands of unneccesary dead. I don't disagree with Truman's decision, someone new was definitely needed.

I dont mean to start somthing but saying a general of any star is incompetant is ignorant. they dont get there by making bad decisions. Yes they can and do make bad decisions but the best can be bested by outside forces.
I will say that the old school of battle in wich George Patton and Douglas McAurter were school`d in did not apply in all the battles they were given but given the chance to adjust he could have figured out a victory. He was born for what he acomplished and i thank him for being there at that moment in time.
Many polititians and soldiers have not endured but if they had not been there at all we would be in a much darker world.
I wont say anything more on the subject of him.

The dangers are not eminent but the fears are that if the hezbozos becomes a strong political party to rule Lebanon as did Hamas now, then the dangers will be more apparent.

Secondly,if the mad man of Tehran pursue his dream of nuke,he will not hesitate using it.It is for this reason that Israel must take his threats seriously. There`s no division among the Israelis and they have demostrated that during the war with Hezbozos.Morale was high among the young men and women and I admired the unity among the politicians also.
