Arrow Islam has given us goal of annihilating “the Zionist entity”

Iran Islamic Revolutionary Guards Deputy Commander:
Islam has given us goal of annihilating “the Zionist entity”

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2014/03/ir...zionist-entity

“The answer is that the religion of Islam has designated this for us – this goal, this motivation, this belief, this energy – so that we, here, can muster all our energies in order to annihilate the Zionist entity.” He couldn’t have made it plainer. Yet the fact that Islam has anything to do with the general Muslim enmity toward Israel is consistently ignored and denied by establishment analysts, right up to and including Barack Obama and John Kerry, who keep insisting in the teeth of all the evidence that a few fresh concessions from Israel will do the trick, and bring about lasting peace.

“IRGC Deputy Commander Hossein Salami: We Are Ready to Annihilate the Zionist Entity in the Future,” from MEMRI, March 11:
Speaking at a conference held in Tehran, IRGC Deputy Commander Brigadier-General Hossein Salami said: “We, here, can muster all our energies in order to annihilate the Zionist entity, more than 1,400 kilometers away. We are ready for that moment in the future.”

Following are excerpts from the speech, which aired on Al-Alam TV on March 11, 2014.

Brigadier-General Hossein Salami: Despite the geographical distance, we are attached to the hearts of the Palestinians. How is it that our slogans and goals are identical to the slogans and causes of the Palestinians? Why do we strive to become martyrs and risk our lives for the Palestinian cause?
The answer is that the religion of Islam has designated this for us – this goal, this motivation, this belief, this energy – so that we, here, can muster all our energies in order to annihilate the Zionist entity, more than 1,400 kilometers away. We are ready for that moment in the future.

Exclamation “Iran’s Final Solution for Israel”

My interview with Zelda Young, re:
“Iran’s Final Solution for Israel”

Iran's Final Solution for Israel: The Legacy of Jihad and Shi'ite Islamic Jew-
Hatred in Iran
In “Iran’s Final Solution for Israel,” Andrew G. Bostom, M.D., M.S., analyzes the living, half-millennial legacy of Shi’ite Iranian jihadism and Islamic Jew-hatred. He further illuminates how the recent U.S.-brokered “P5 + 1” agreement has abetted the post-Khomeini era Iranian theocracy’s annihilationist designs on Israel, and its global hegemonic aspirations. Bostom is the author of the highly acclaimed “The Legacy of Jihad,” “The Legacy of Islamic Antisemitism,” and “Sharia Versus Freedom.”

Exclamation Iran’s Supremo: Ignoring Qur’an can lead to “cooperation with Zionist Regime”

Iran’s Supremo: Ignoring Qur’an can lead to “cooperation with Zionist Regime”
By Robert Spencer

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2014/06/ir...zionist-regime

One might almost get the impression that Khamenei thinks that something in the Qur’an leads people to hate Jews — perhaps their designation as the worst enemies of the Muslims (5:82) or their characterization as being accursed or Allah and condemned to living in shame and disgrace (3:112). But we all know that the Qur’an teaches respect for Jews, because Islamic spokesmen in the U.S. insist that it does, and so the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran must be a misunderstander of Islam.

“Khamenei Tells Winners of Quran Competition: Ignoring Holy Book Can Lead to ‘Cooperation With Zionist Regime,’” by Joshua Levitt, Algemeiner, June 3, 2014 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

Iranian Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday warned competitors in the 31st International Quran Competition that a lack of “intimacy with the Quran” could lead to “fratricide or even cooperation with the Zionist Regime,” state news agency Mehr reported.

“Intimacy with Quran is an indication that the heart is prepared to receive heavenly guide,” Khamenei said at the competition’s closing ceremony. “Today, the greatest plight for Islamic world is ignoring the intimacy with Quran and subsequently, to remain unaware of the enemies’ rouses [sic].”

He said Islam’s enemies waged proxy wars in Islamic societies, according to Mehr, then he warned that “some parts of the Ummah [the global Muslim population] ignore such policies, and they easily fall to the trap of fratricide or even cooperation with the Zionist Regime.”

“The heavenly blessings and understanding Quranic criteria to know the enemies hinge upon close companionship of Quran,” the Ayatollah said.

The fiery rhetoric mirrored a similar speech last week to Iran’s parliament, where Iran’s Supreme Leader vowed to destroy the U.S., which he held responsible for distorting the world’s values and starting indiscriminate wars.

Khamenei said,“Battle and jihad are endless because evil and its front continue to exist. … This battle will only end when the society can get rid of the oppressors’ front with America at the head of it, which has expanded its claws on human mind, body and thought. … This requires a difficult and lengthy struggle and need for great strides.”

The Ayatollah said, “Today’s world is full of thieves and plunderers of human honor, dignity and morality who are equipped with knowledge, wealth and power, and under the pretense of humanity easily commit crimes and betray human ideals and start wars in different parts of the world.”

Thumbs down Khamanei Tweets for Annihilation of Israel

‘Barbaric, Wolflike and Infanticidal’:
Khamanei Tweets for Annihilation of Israel
By Sharona Schwartz

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014...ion-of-israel/

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei went on a Twitter tirade against Israel this weekend, accusing it of poisoning Yasser Arafat and killing Palestinian children, concluding the only “cure” is to annihilate the Jewish State.

He characterized Israel as “barbaric, wolflike and infanticidal.”

The string of anti-Israel tweets was posted just two days after the Wall Street Journal reported that President Barack Obama had written a letter to Khamenei last month about their shared interest in combatting the Islamic State group. It was at least the fourth letter Obama sent Iran’s supreme leader since taking office in 2009, according to the Journal.

Khamenei’s tweets focused on the current tension surrounding Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, known as the Noble Sanctuary to Muslims, which has been the location of violent clashes between Palestinians and Israeli police.

He called for arming Palestinians in the West Bank and hashtagged his tweets “HandsOffAlAqsa,” referring to the mosque on the Temple Mount.

The Temple Mount is the third holiest site in Islam and the holiest site for the Jewish faith.

Khamenei last year on Twitter described Israel as the “sinister, unclean rabid dog of the region.”

Iran experts believe the Twitter feed is legitimate and is run by Khamenei’s office.

Iran supreme leader touts 9-point plan to destroy Israel

Ayatollah Khamenei says West Bank should be armed like Gaza, and Jewish population should return to countries it came from

A plan titled “9 key questions about the elimination of Israel” was posted on his Twitter account Saturday night, using the hashtag #handsoffalaqsa, in reference to the recent tensions on the Temple Mount. The sometimes grammatically awkward list explained the how and why of Khomeini’s vision for replacing Israel with a Palestinian state.
The first point stated that “the fake Zionist regime has tried to realize its goals by means of infanticide, homicide, violence & iron fist while boasts about it blatantly.”

Due to the above, Khomeini argued, “the only means of bringing Israeli crimes to an end is the elimination of this regime.”

However, he noted that destroying Israel would not mean the “massacre of the Jewish people in this region” but rather “the Islamic Republic has proposed a practical & logical mechanism for this to the international communities.”

The “proper way of eliminating Israel,” he suggested, is through a “public and organized referendum” for all of the “original people of Palestine including Muslims, Christians, and Jews wherever they are…” However, “the Jewish immigrants who have been persuaded into emigration to Palestine do not have the right to take part.”

The resulting government would then decide if the “non-Palestinian emigrants” can remain in the country or should “return to their home countries.”

Khomeini charged the international community with overcoming the “usurper Zionist” objections to his “fair and logical plan.” Until the referendum, Israel should be confronted with “resolute and armed resistance.”

The Iranian leader also called for arming the people of the West Bank and Gaza to fight against Israel, and rejected “arbitration by UN or other international organizations” because “the fact that Yasser Arafat was poisoned and killed by Israel…proves that in the viewpoint of Israel ‘peace’ is simply a trick for more crimes and occupation.”

“This barbaric, wolflike & infanticidal regime of #Israel which spares no crime has no cure but to be annihilated,” Khamenei wrote in an earlier tweet on Friday.

“West Bank should be armed just like #Gaza. Friends of Palestine should do their best to arm People in West Bank,” he declared in another.

The Iranian supreme leader first called for the arming of Palestinians in the West Bank in July, during the summer’s 50-day conflict.

[/quote] In late August, Iran said it was stepping up efforts to arm West Bank Palestinians for battle against Israel, with Basij militia chief Mohammad Reza Naqdi saying the move would lead to Israel’s annihilation, Iran’s Fars news agency reported.

“Arming the West Bank has started and weapons will be supplied to the people of this region,” Naqdi, who heads the nationwide paramilitary network, said.

“The Zionists should know that the next war won’t be confined to the present borders and the Mujahedeen will push them back,” he added. Naqdi claimed that much of Hamas’s arsenal, training and technical knowhow in the recent conflict with Israel was supplied by Iran.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei admitted to providing support for Hamas in Gaza, in a series of hateful tweets against Israel on Sunday and Monday.

Iran’s military and financial support for Hamas was also touted openly in the Iranian press, which even named the Fajr 5 missiles and Ababil drones given to militants by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.
The hypocrisy of it all was called out on Monday by AIPAC, the America-Israel Public Affairs Committee, which asked how the U.S. and world powers could remove further economic sanctions and extend talks with Iran, “at the very moment when Hamas is using arms supplied by Tehran to attack Israeli civilians.”

Khamenei’s social media outburst gave further credence to the accusations at a hearing held by U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce last week that “Iran’s nuclear program is just the tip of a revolutionary spear that extends across the world and threatens key U.S. interests,” with Tehran’s foreign policy being “subversive, sectarian, and set on goals that would come at the expense of U.S. interests in the region.”

Rather than “revolutionary spear,” this column seeks to use language the Iranian mullahs in Tehran will understand, with Khamenei’s Twitter rant showing that Iran’s Supreme Leader is the very head of the serpent whose tail is Hamas in Gaza.

Much has been written about Tehran’s role in financing and arming its allies and its role in the region’s shifting alliances. One Op-Ed at the weekend went further to now paint an internal proxy war within the Sunni axis in the Middle East, now split with Egypt, the Palestinian Authority, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, on one side against Qatar, Turkey and Hamas, along with other global supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood, on the other.
But that analysis left out the alliance that has been most directly threatening to Israel; Iran-Syria-Lebanon-Gaza, with the first pair represented by the entrenched regimes and the second by Hezbollah and Hamas, both of which are classified internationally as terrorist groups.
Another question that wasn’t directly explored by pundits was that if Hamas is fighting Israel in some proxy war, would it really just be another way of saying, quite simply, this is Iran versus the U.S.?

And, more specifically, if Hamas takes orders from Tehran and receives its missiles from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, was the flare-up in the past two weeks of Gaza’s sworn war against Israel just some sick and twisted smokescreen to divert the world’s attention from Sunday’s July 20th expiration of the six-month negotiation window set by the U.S. to reach an agreement with Tehran to slow Iran’s nuclear program?

In other words, should the blood of hundreds of Gazans, following Hamas orders to stand on the rooftops of their homes, rather than follow IDF instructions to vacate and seek shelter, be on the hands of Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal, or his benefactor, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran?

On Twitter, via @khamenei_ir, Khamenei showed the world his hatred for Jews, Israel, and the U.S., combining new tweets with some from his archive, which he even dated, with one self-referenced quote going back 20 years.

His Twitter account was also updated with a new background photo, showing Khamenei at a news conference with Meshaal, now living in exile, who was also accused by Israel media at the weekend for having embezzled perhaps billions of dollars from donations for humanitarian support into a property empire in Qatar.

On Sunday, Khamenei said on Twitter: “We back and assist any nations that confront the Zionist regime and we are not at all afraid of declaring it. 2/3/12 #GazaUnderAttack #Gaza”.

Tweet from Iranian Ayatollah Khamenei: "#Israel, sinister filthy rabid dog in the region, is a threat to the world. 11/2/13 Zionism is The Real Terrorism #Gaza."

He also re-published one infamous tweet that triggered international condemnation: “#Israel, sinister filthy rabid dog in the region, is a threat to the world. 11/2/13 Zionism is The Real Terrorism #Gaza.”
He said Western governments, especially the U.S. have “disgraced themselves by their silence and support” of Israel, a repeat from October 27, 2010.

A fresh one read: “Even if ppl from across the world stage protests against #Israel’s crimes, the only thing western govts will do is speak! #GazaUnderAttack.”

On Monday, he resumed his Twitter rant, focusing on denigrating Israel and denying the Jewish State’s legitimacy, even quoting himself speaking in 1994.

“#Israel nation& Govt that has been established by crime & violation of Palestinians’ rights has no means of survival but #terrorism. 7/20/94″
He said Jews who emigrated to Israel were “greedy ppl & sometimes wicked & killer who are gathered fr across the world.”

He also tried to separate Jews living in tiny minorities, such as the 30,000 claimed to live among Iran’s 76 million people, as being different from those living in the Jewish national home:

“There are Jews living in various countries;in Iran Jews live respectably ‘cuz its their own country but #Zionism is different from #Judaism.”

He said: “What’s #Israel? A fake regime & a false nation. They gathered some greedy ppl fr across the world on the pretext of a better life in #Palestine.”

He continued: “Usurper #Israel’s govt, over half a century since this cancer tumor was formed in the body of Islam, has always led its course by #terrorism.”

"Made in Iran" stamped on a bag of cement used to conceal rockets aboard an Irani ship destined for Gaza via Sudan. Photo: IDF.

While Khamenei tried to denounce Israel for terrorism, it was Chairman Royce last week who pointed the finger at the Islamic Republic for being the world’s largest terrorist organization.

Royce said,“It is Iran that provides the funding, weapons, and training to Hamas and other Palestinian terror groups. Iranian leaders have admitted to providing the missile technology that Hamas used against Israel during the last Gaza conflict in November 2012. And just the other week, a U.N. panel of experts concluded that rockets and weapons concealed on the Klos-C – including long-range M-302 rockets – originated from Iran.”

The Klos-C ship was seized by Israel in March. Hidden under bags of Iranian cement, Israel found 40 M-302 missiles, 181 122-mm mortars, and 400,000 7.62 caliber bullets. The weapons were originally flown from Syria to Iran. From Iran, they were shipped by boat to Iraq. The shipment was intercepted as it was being moved by boat from Iraq to Sudan, from where the weapons would have been smuggled into Gaza.

“Indeed, with Iran’s long support of terrorist groups, militias and regimes, the region has been feeling the brunt of this ‘revolutionary spear’ for quite some time,” Royce said.

Or, in the words familiar to the Ayatollah’s mullahs, Iran’s Supreme Leader is the very head of the serpent whose tail is Hamas in Gaza.

Exclamation Iran launches “We Love Fighting Israel” campaign

Iran launches “We Love Fighting Israel” campaign

BY ROBERT SPENCER

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2014/12/ir...srael-campaign

Glorifying hatred and savagery, even among the youngest children, and paving the way for a war that is certain to come. “Iran Launches ‘We Love Fighting Israel’ Campaign,” by Adam Kredo, Washington Free Beacon, December 10, 2014:

The Iranian regime has launched a nationwide social media campaign called, “We Love Fighting Israel,” which encourages Iranian children, teens, and Internet users to photograph themselves alongside messages of hate for the Jewish state.

The movement has sprouted online in the last few days across social media sites such as Twitter, Instagram, and other platforms as a result of a recent call by Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei rallying the nation to take on Israel.

The campaign drew outrage from opponents of Iran’s hardline regime and calls for sites such as Instagram to shut it down for violating policies against hate speech.

Thousands of Iranians are reported to have already joined the electronic movement following comments by Khamenei’s outlining Iran’s goal of destroying the Jewish state.

“Our people love fighting against the Zionists and the Islamic Republic has proved this as well,” Khamenei was quoted as saying in a recent speech by the country’s state-run media. “By Allah’s Favor and Grace, we have passed through the barrier of denominational discord.”

These remarks inspired Iranian social media users to take to the Internet and launch the “We Love Fighting Israel” movement. The campaign even has spawned its own hashtag on Twitter, “#FightingtheZionists.”

The anti-Israel campaign now “has gone viral on the web,” according to Iran’s state-controlled Mehr News Agency, “getting more and more boost from individuals who post photos reading similar sentences, [and] sharing the #Fightingthezionists hash tag.”

More than 300 pictures have already been posted to an Instagram account titled, “FightingTheZionists.” The account, which had some 3,000 followers as of Tuesday evening, links to Khamenei’s personal Instagram account.

Users post pictures with messages declaring, “We love fighting against Israel,” “I love to fight Israel,” “We are lovers of fighting Israel,” and “I love fighting against Zionists,” among other similar messages.

One picture in particular has caught the eye of Iran critics on the web and prompted a harsh response to the anti-Israel campaign.

The photo shows a young child decked out in military gear and holding a sign that translates from Farsi as, “I love fighting against Zionists.”

Captioned alongside the photo is an English language message that reads: “Our people love fighting against the Zionists and the Islamic Republic has proved this as well, Ayatollah Khamenei.”

It is not the only photo to depict young children as participating in the campaign to fight Israel.

The photos posted on the Instagram page depict “several groups of people including war veterans, students, journalists, and people from all walks of life joining the campaign,” according to Mehr News….

Exclamation Iran's New Terror Base against Israel

Iran's New Terror Base against Israel
by Yaakov Lappin

January 22, 2015
http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/51...n-syria-israel

The new base in Syria gives Hezbollah the option of attacking Israel and drawing Israel's return fire away from Lebanon, where its most precious assets are hidden: well over 100,000 rockets and missiles that might be saved for a future battle over Iran's nuclear weapons program.

Hezbollah, exploiting its presence in Syria, has been attempting to open a new front against Israel.

Over the past 18 months, Hezbollah and its enablers from the Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps [IRGC] have begun launching a series of attacks on Israel from their new center of operations in southern Syria.

After Sunday's air strike (attributed by the media to the Israel Air Force) that killed 12 high-ranking Hezbollah and IRGC operatives near Quneitra, Syria, along the Israeli border, Israel is bracing for the possibility of an attack by Hezbollah and Iran.

Although Israel has not officially taken responsibility for the strike, it would make sense to view the action as a preemptive move designed to remove a clear and present danger arising on Israel's border with Syria. The danger is the formation of a second Hezbollah terrorism base, in addition to Hezbollah's home base already in Lebanon.

The IRGC and Hezbollah have begun playing a dual role in the geographical area once known as the Syrian Arab Republic, a country that no longer exists as it appears on world maps. Iran and Hezbollah are acting as the life support machine for the shrunken but still functional Assad regime, now in control of just Damascus, Aleppo, and the Syrian Mediterranean coastline.

Since moving into Syria to rescue the regime of Bashar Al-Assad, Hezbollah, acting on orders from Iran, has expanded its presence in several areas of Syria. Iran too has boosted its presence in Syria, primarily though the presence of members of its Revolutionary Guards.

At the same time, the IRGC and Hezbollah have begun building a terrorism base in Syria that is directed against Israel, in addition to the Iranian-backed Hezbollah semi-state entity in southern Lebanon.

The new base in Syria, at Israel's northeast border, gives Hezbollah the option of attacking Israel and drawing Israel's return fire away from Lebanon, where its most precious assets are hidden: well over 100,000 rockets and missiles that might be saved for a future battle over Iran's nuclear weapons program.

Hezbollah is also under domestic Lebanese pressure not to drag Lebanon into a new devastating conflict with Israel.

The Hezbollah and IRGC operatives that were targeted in Sunday's airstrike were in the midst of significantly stepping up these attacks. Their plans included rockets and cross-border raids by terror cells. These attack plans were seriously larger in scale than past assaults.

It is in this context that Sunday's air strike occurred.

Now, all eyes are on northern Israel to see whether Hezbollah and Iran retaliate there. The leader of the IRGC, Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, on Tuesday threatened Israel with "devastating thunderbolts" -- threats Israel cannot afford to take lightly.

Israeli soldiers take part in a training exercise near the border with Syria, December 2013. (Image source: IDF)

It would be safe to assume, however, that Hezbollah wishes to avert the outbreak of an all-out conflict. Such a war would expose Lebanon to unprecedented Israeli firepower, and would also expose Israel to unprecedented Hezbollah rocket attacks and cross-border infiltrations by land, air and sea.

If such a conflict were to break out, many parts of southern Lebanon could lie in ruins, and Hezbollah's many Sunni enemies in next-door Syria could seize on the weakness of their Shi'ite foes and pounce, dragging Lebanon into the Syrian war.

That kind of outcome would not benefit Hezbollah or Iran in any way. But in the Middle East, miscalculations have led to costly errors in the past, and events can take on a life of their own.

Iranian Cleric: ‘Having A Nuclear Bomb Is Necessary To Put Down Israel’

Posted on 1/7/2014 by Jews News

Top lawmaker reveals Obama courting Rouhani

By Adam Kredo

A top Iranian lawmaker and cleric said that the country’s uranium enrichment program could allow it to build a nuclear weapon “in two weeks” in order to “put down Israel,” according to multiple reports in the Farsi language press.

Iranian lawmaker and cleric Muhammad Nabavian said on Friday that Iran would be able to build a nuclear bomb in “two weeks” if it gets “access to 270 kilograms of 20 percent [enriched uranium], 10 tons of 5 percent, and 20 thousand centrifuges,” according to reports on Iran’s Radio Farda and in Fararu.

“We are not looking for a nuclear bomb, but having a nuclear bomb is necessary to put down Israel,” Nabavian said, according to an independent translation of his remarks provided to the Washington Free Beacon.
Nabavian went on to claim that President Barack Obama had courted Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in the lead up to nuclear negotiations with the West last year.

Nabavian said Rouhani revealed in a private meeting that the U.S. president reached out to his Iranian counterpart on at least five separate occasions prior to Rouhani’s visit last year to New York City.
Rouhani ultimately refused to meet with Obama at the time despite the private overtures.

Iran’s parliament on Sunday reportedly approved and sent to Rouhani a bill demanding that Tehran enrich uranium up to 60 percent, levels just shy of those needed to fuel a nuclear weapon.

Russia’s ties with Tehran have improved significantly since November’s interim nuclear deal aimed at halting portions of Iran’s uranium enrichment program, according to Nabavian.

“Considering tough sanctions on Iranian banks, since last summer the whole banks throughout the world slammed their doors on us and we were unable to transfer even one single penny,” he said. “Even if we could sell 2.7 million barrels [of oil] per day how we could transfer the money?”
“Only recently, [Russian leader] Vladimir Putin sent the Russian central bank chief to Iran in order to alleviate money transfers, China also recently released part of our blocked money, U.S. $10 billion.”

With reports circulating that the interim nuclear deal is set to finally be enacted on Jan. 20, Nabavian confirmed that negotiations are about “90 percent” complete.

“Our negotiation with the U.S. has developed swiftly. We reached to 90 percent agreement,” Nabavian said, citing recent conversations he had with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.

Nabavian claimed that Araqchi overheard Secretary of State John Kerry mocking Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a recent closed door meeting with his fellow nuclear negotiators.

“At the end of the negotiation, [lead U.S. negotiator] Wendy Sherman contacted John Kerry asking him to join the meeting,” Nabavian recalled. “Upon his arrival, Kerry mentioned that he has met Netanyahu in the morning and his ears were still whistling because of Netanyahu’s shouts!”
As the Iranian nuclear negotiations move closer to a critical tipping point, Tehran’s hardline legislature is angling to give itself more control over the talks.

A recently proposed “special supervisory group” will submit guidelines for the negotiators to follow, according to Iran’s state-run Mehr News Agency.
The group of “high-ranking officials” will “coordinate with the negotiating team on issues such as uranium enrichment and other relevant issues,” a member of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission told Mehr.

Exclamation Iran's Views of Jews and the U.S.

Iran's Views of Jews and the U.S.
by Lawrence A. Franklin

February 17, 2015

Iran's imminent nuclear breakout capability will, of course, come with insufficient notice for anyone to stop it.

With its new intercontinental ballistic missiles, Iran can deliver these nuclear warheads to every capital of Europe. It does not even have to do that. It need only threaten to, while spelling out what it wants.

Doubtless, Iran has also put the "Great Satan," the U.S., high at the top of its list.

Such a history, which reveals why most Jews of Iranian ancestry live abroad, can only intensify Israel's suspicion of any agreement reached with the current Iranian regime, which has pledged often to eliminate "the Zionist entity," the "Little Satan."

Christians and Jews are familiar with the biblical narrative of how the ancient ruler of the Persian Empire, Cyrus, granted the Jewish people their freedom after his conquest of the Babylonia in 538 B.C. His proclamation launched the most meaningful "aliyah" [going up to Israel] until modern times.[1]

The Persian ruler even contributed treasure to help finance the rebuilding of Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem, which had been destroyed by the Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar.

There is, however, a different narrative. When Zoroastrianism was declared the official state religion during the Sassanid Dynasty (224-651 A.D.),[2] the plight of Iran's Jews deteriorated.

This fusion of state and religion gave Zoroastrian clerics more political power than the monarchy. It also led to the enforcement of intolerant uniform rules of worship for all of Persia's citizenry.[3]

That persecution clearly shows that Iranian "Jew-Hatred" predates the birth of Islam. Professor Shaul Shaked details pre-Islamic Sassanid Era polemics against the Jews:[4] The Sassanids burned synagogues and outlawed the celebration of the day of rest, Shabbat. One Sassanid monarch, "Feroz the Wicked" (Reshi'a), had most of the Jews of Isfahan murdered [5] -- in the very city where the biblical heroine, Esther, and her cousin, Mordecai, are buried.

Later, in most of the Safavid (1502-1736) and Qajar (1781-1925) dynastic eras, the monarchs' relationship with Iran's Jews was at best problematic. After the conversion of Iran's Muslims to the Shia sect of Islam, Jews, like other non-Shia minorities in Persia, were forced to live as dhimmi (tolerated, second-class citizens).

For centuries, there were forced conversions, the closing of synagogues, and destruction of Hebrew books[6] Outward signs distinguished Jews from the rest of Iran's "loyal" citizens. Throughout the Safavid Era, Iran's Jews were forced to wear colored hats and non-matching shoes.[7] In 1588, under the Safavid Shah Abbas I, restrictive ordinances against Jews were instituted, which came to known as "Jam Abbasi Laws," severely limiting Jewish property rights and professions in which Jews could work.[8] Sometimes anti-Jewish feelings resulted in the often deadly Yud Bazi (Jew Game)[9] or Yud Khost (Jew Murder).[10] Attacks occurred: Muslim Imams whipped up their followers in anti-Jewish diatribes.

The 6th century B.C. Persian Emperor Cyrus, who granted the Jewish people their freedom, is pictured at left in the painting "Cyrus II le Grand et les Hébreux" (by Jean Fouquet, 1470-1475). The Persian Safavid ruler Shah Abbas I, pictured at right reviewing the severed heads of captured Ottoman Turkish soldiers, instituted restrictive ordinances against Jews in 1588.

It was not until the Pahlavi Dynasty (1925-1979) that Jews in Iran could live without threats from their own government. Reza Shah Pahlavi even rebuffed Hitler's attempt to target Iranian Jews;[11] and under his son, Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran, Jews lived in freedom.

After the establishment of the Islamic Republic, however, Reza Shah was called a "Zionist stooge,"[12] and Iranian Jews were often accused of being spies for Israel. Many of Iran's Jews emigrated to Israel, the United States, or other countries in the Free World.

Although Iran is Shia and not Sunni, the same basic anti-Jewish references in theological texts are to be found in the Koran and Hadith. Both purport to justify inveterate Jew-hatred. The most familiar texts are the Koran's condemnation of the Jews as "killers of the prophets,"[13] "all Jews are not all bad, the good ones become Muslims, The bad ones do not."[14] There are also several Hadith passages that lend theological support for virulent Jew-hatred in today's Iran. For example, the murder by strangulation of a Jewess who speaks ill of the Prophet, is justified.[15] These passages buttress more contemporary assaults on Jews by Iran's Islamic revolutionary leaders, such as those of Khomeini and Khamenei, [16] along with earlier condemnation of Jews and Israel as najis, [unclean infidels].[17]

Such a history -- which reveals why most Jews of Iranian ancestry live abroad -- can only intensify Israel's suspicion of any agreement reached with the current Iranian regime, which has pledged often to eliminate the "Zionist entity," the "Little Satan."

This comprehensive meticulously documented collection of scholarly articles presents indisputable evidence that a readily discernible and uniquely Islamic antisemitism has been expressed continuously since the advent of Islam. The contributors show that the "Koran" itself is a significant source of hostility towards Jews as well as other foundational texts.

Exclamation Iranian Official: Israel's Annihilation Still Our Central Goal

Iranian Official: Israel's Annihilation Still Our Central Goal
Senior official rebuffs British claims Iran's stance towards Israel has softened.

By Ari Soffer

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/199907

A senior Iranian official has reiterated that Iran views the annihilation of the State of Israel as its most central foreign policy, despite warming relations with western powers.

The Iranian Parliament Speaker's Adviser for International Affairs, Hossein Sheikholeslam, made the comments in a speech to reporters in Tehran, during which he also attacked the British Foreign Secretary for suggesting Iran's hostility towards Israel had softened since the nuclear deal.

"Our positions against the usurper Zionist regime have not changed at all; Israel should be annihilated and this is our ultimate slogan," Sheikholeslam said Tuesday, according to the semi-official Fars News.

He was responding to an interview given by UK Foreign Secretary Phillip Hammond following the reopening of the British embassy in Tehran, during which Hammond claimed the current Iranian regime was displaying a "more nuanced" approach towards the Jewish state than previous ones.

"What we're looking for is behavior from Iran, not only towards Israel but towards other players in the region, that slowly rebuilds their sense that Iran is not a threat to them," Hammond added.

Sheikholeslam also rebuffed Hammond's call for past hostilities between Iran and Britain to be forgotten, retorting that Iran ""will never forget the past and Britain's colonialist moves."

Exclamation Khamenei: Israel won’t survive next 25 years

Obama's Nuke Deal Partner Feels Free to Threaten The Very Existence Of Israel Now That Obama and the Europeans Have Surrendered To Them In Their View!

Khamenei:
Israel won’t survive next 25 years
Taking to Twitter, Iranian leader says Zionists won’t find serenity until destruction, calls US ‘Great Satan’ and rejects any talks with Washington beyond nuke deal

Israel will not survive the next 25 years, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Wednesday, making a series of threatening remarks published online.

In a quote posted to Twitter by Khamenei’s official account, Khamenei addresses Israel, saying, “You will not see next 25 years,” and adds that the Jewish state will be hounded until it is destroyed.

The quote comes against a backdrop of a photograph apparently showing the Iranian leader walking on an Israeli flag painted on a sidewalk.

“After negotiations, in Zionist regime they said they had no more concern about Iran for next 25 years; I’d say: Firstly, you will not see next 25 years; God willing, there will be nothing as Zionist regime by next 25 years. Secondly, until then, struggling, heroic and jihadi morale will leave no moment of serenity for Zionists,” the quote from Iran’s top leader reads in broken English.

The quote was apparently taken from a speech given earlier in the day.

The remarks came as US lawmakers began to debate supporting a recent nuclear agreement between Tehran and six world powers. Critics of the deal have pointed to fiery anti-US and anti-Zionist rhetoric as proof that the regime should not be trusted.

The White House and other deal boosters argue that the pact, meant to keep Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, is based on verification, not trust.

Khamenei’s statements also reaffirmed his view that the US is a “Great Satan” and that there would be no detente with Washington beyond the nuclear talks.

“We approved talks with the United States about [the] nuclear issue specifically. We have not allowed talks with the US in other fields and we [do] not negotiate with them,” Khamenei said in statements published on his website.

Khamenei is quoted as saying any other talks would be “a tool for penetration and imposing their demands.”

On Twitter, Khamenei said talks with the US were a “means of infiltration and imposition of their wills.”

Quoting the founder of the Islamic Republic and his predecessor as Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, Khamenei tweeted: “@IRKhomeini stated “US is the Great Satan,” some insist on depicting this Great Satan as an angel.”

The Twitter handle @IRKhomeini is an Iranian government account dedicated to Khomeini’s statements.

Some have pointed to the nuclear deal as an opening for Iran to repair long-frayed ties with the West.

Several senior European officials have traveled to Iran since the nuclear deal was reached to boost economic and diplomatic ties, including Austrian President Heinz Fischer, who on Monday became the first European leader to visit Tehran in over a decade.

On Tuesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani signaled that Iran is ready to hold talks with world powers on ways to resolve Syria’s civil war — provided such negotiations could secure peace and democracy in the conflict-torn country, he said.

Iran, together with Russia, backs the embattled regime of Bashar Assad, who is opposed by much of the West.

Iranian commander warns there are 100,000 missiles ready to strike Israel

Published July 04, 2016 FoxNews.com

July 16, 2010: Hossein Salami, deputy head of Iran's Revolutionary Guard. (Reuters)

The deputy commander of Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard declared Friday that there are tens of thousands of missiles in Lebanon ready to strike Israel.

"Hezbollah has 100,000 missiles that are ready to hit Israel to liberate the occupied Palestinian territories if the Zionist regime repeats its past mistakes," Gen. Hossein Salami was quoted as saying by Tasnim, according to Reuters.

The Jerusalem Post reported that Salami warned that Israel’s occupied territories could come under attack if they make the “wrong move.”
“Today, the grounds for the annihilation and collapse of the Zionist regime are (present) more than ever,” he said.

Additionally, state TV reported Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani accused the West of trying to exploit differences between Shiite and Sunni Muslims to divert attention from the Palestinian-Israel conflict.

"The global arrogance (the United States and its allies) wants to create discord among Muslims ... Unity is the only way to restore stability in the region," Rouhani said. "We stand with the dispossessed Palestinian nation."
Rouhani spoke as tens of thousands of Iranians joined in an anti-Israel rally to express support for the Palestinians. The demonstrators shouted "Death to Israel" and "Death to America" and while they burned an Israeli flag.
“The Zionist regime (Israel) is a regional base for America and the global arrogance ... Disunity and discord among Muslim and terrorist groups in the region ... have diverted us from the important issue of Palestine," Rouhani added.

Israeli opposition has been a policy of Tehran’s since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Shiite Muslim Iran has backed Palestinian and Lebanese militant groups who oppose peace with Israel.
