A senior military expert says Israel and Iran “are not necessarily on an inevitable course to a full-scale military conflict,” despite reports indicating that Iran plans to attack imminently.

A senior IDF source told Sky News Arabia that Iran plans to attack Israel from Syria, The Jerusalem Post reported Tuesday.

“Israel will react strongly to any Iranian action from inside Syria,” a senior IDF source told the news site

Aerial photos released Tuesday show that Iran has established several military bases in Syria. The pictures indicate that Tehran remains capable of flying in surface-to-surface missiles to Syria as well as unmanned aerial vehicles under the guise of humanitarian aid, the Post said.

However, according to Brig.-Gen. (ret.) Yossi Kuperwasser, former director-general of the Ministry of Strategic Affairs and former head of the IDF’s Intelligence Research and Assessment Division, Israel and Iran “are not necessarily on an inevitable course to a full-scale military conflict.”

Israeli security sources on Tuesday issued a stern warning to Iran not to launch revenge attacks on Israel after an IDF strike last week on a base in Syria that killed seven Iranian military advisers. Kuperwasser, in a conference call organized by The Israel Project, noted soon afgter that warning was issued that Israel and Iran have already been in a proxy war over Iran’s entrenchment in Syria for years.

Kuperwasser said the latest developments, in which rhetoric between Tehran and Jerusalem has reached boiling point, are mostly semantic.

Amen, the God given land of Israel / IDF will always be victorious, the towel heads should spend a moment researching history on those that attacked Israel. One classic example i love reading about is the war of 1967.God bless/ keep Israel.

Consider Isaiah 17 - the destruction of Damascus - the longest inhabited city in the world. The prophecy says it will become a heap of rubble and not habitable again. Then Ezekiel 38 predicts the united forces of Gog of Magog (Russia - the leader) with Persia (Iran) and The House of Togarmah (Turkey) will attack via the "mountains of Israel" (Golan Heights) and "come against my people like a cloud".

Apparently, Putin gave Bibi a warning last week about actions in Syria and Bibi basically told him where to go. Putin's reaction was no reaction. Russia is in no condition to get involved in a large scale action with all of the West's sanctions against it and the ability of the West and Arabian peninsula to put their oil exports out of business. Our taking back Obama's gifts on May 12 will tend to cripple Iran.

God will deal quite effectively with Iran when Ezekiel 38- 39 becomes a fulfilled prophecy.

With Iran and Russia it seems. But the Ezekiel 38 war with Gog and Magog does not appear to take place until after the Millennial Reign of Messiah on earth - Israel living in peace and safety, un-walled city. God himself fights for Israel and quickly destroys them. This all appears to be a prophecy of Gog and Magog destroyed by God after the 1000 year reign of Messiah is completed.

Is Not after, read well the Scripture. A mysterious and charismatic guy will appear in the political scene, and he will get some how a Pact of a Peace( between the haters of Ysrael, and Ysrael) for the next 7 years, but at half of the Pact, the Peace will be broken, and then the all pandemonium of the last War, the Armaggedon war will cause the whole Earth to be in the conflict, and all the Nations ( The U.N.) will descend to fight a war against Ysrael, in the Valley of the Meguido, and G-D will fight for His People, will all the wrath of the elements, there will be pain in the whole Earth like woman in labor.

Hey Steven:
It is also possible that Israel will nuke Damascus (Isaiah 17:1...note...overnight), then Israel will think "OK, what the heck, we nuked Damascus and now the whole world , even our friends have turned against us so let's go all the way and get back the 90% of the Abrahamic Covenant lands that God promised us (war of Psalm 83) and then, after all this, once the world has caught it's collective breath from this nuclear war, then the war of Gog & Magog with Russia, Turkey and Iran. Ezekial 37-38-39.

That is pretty much the scenario that Scripture describes for these last days, but 2 Thess. 6,7,8,9 say that we will be gone, Raptured away before the antichrist becomes known. PTL.

Keep your eyes on Jared Kushner & MBS (Mohammed Bin Salman) as well as they might pull together a peace treaty..maybe the pope will stick his nose in there as well.

I hear the hoofbeats.......Rev. Roy.........<><

The top priority has to be getting Iran and Hezbollah out of Syria. Why does the Trump administration not address this? Why does the EU not address this? Why does Russia. . . .

Forget Russia. They have no idea the harm they are doing even to their own interests.

Not good enough. Trump has to address it publicly and to Putin.

Trump says "trust me" all the time. This is why I don't.

Iranian bases in Syria, its proxy state.

Only 1 reason. Easy location to start an attack on Israel, or to "take over" neighboring Arab countries and force them into Moslem states under Iran's control!

Iran or Syria don't want to mess with Israel. Israel is losing her patience with all of this aggression and her defense will not fare well with any aggressor.

That would give Israel all the provocation they need to attack and destroy Iran. Not just their forces in Syria but Iran proper. While they're at it Assad will also be a target as he has allowed Syria to become a proxy Iranian state. Might as well take out Hezbollah at the same time because they will seize the opportunity to launch missile and rockets into Israel.

Iran is in a mess and, like all failed states, rather than face up to its failures, it will blow the trumpet to try to fool the ignorant. Only G-d can fix Iran's corrupt shambles and give its people the chance to choose some constructive future.

The U.S. military has weapons the world has never seen before. If we detected early on that Iran fore instance planned a major attack we could degrade their military by 70% during the first hour of combat.
They would be irreparably damaged. Israel can easily destroy the bases in Syria. If the Iranians are smart, they won't do anything.

"Is Iran imminently planning to attack Israel from Syria?"

Well, this could be true. Remember, the Iranians do have this overriding death wish. Israel, I think, should help grant it. May all you terrorist-lovers of Iran rot in Hell.

The leaders of Iran don't have the stomach or the stones to attack Israel. The mullahs and generals are all cowards. They will just hide behind terrorist organizations, children duped into suicide bombings and mined highways. They will never confront the IDF. Every time the Arabs and Iranians have tried challenging the IDF, they have gotten their nose bloodied and their butt kicked.

The ayatollahs must think very carefully about challenging Israel on her 70th birthday. Israel will not tolerate any Iranian hostility. Hence the ayatollahs must be prepared for the mighty power and strong will of the IDF and the People of Israel.
